EE: With your experience with wildlife & personal understanding of the damage that man can do even to himself & with your compassion for life, I'm glad that you are involved in this concern with teaching & ministry to others, especially for Environmental and Natural Disasters.

I am not knowledgeable of this area. Is there a legal responsibility that the fish company neglected, whereby they can & should be prosecuted? It seems reasonable to pursue that. What can the general public do to help ensure a repetition of this tragedy doesn't occur? -Rev. S

TY SG, by Federal law, the responsibility of the death of an American Bald Eagle is punishable by law by a fine of up to $500K and 5 years in jail.

This industry had to know the Eagles were foraging there and it was their responsibility as a community member (per their mission statement) to make sure the truck was properly secure and there were no living thing in it when they closed it. Leaving fish guts out in the open is an invitation for wildlife to gather. They were negligent in their field of work.

What can the general public do about it? Email them and let them know that they were negligent in their handling of the situation of a truck full of fish guts. Also email USFW and let them know your feelings. If you don't speak up there will be no action. sometimes when you do speak up there is no action, but they know we are watching......that makes them a bit more careful.

          Thanx EE.

I thought there was a legal responsibility for Ocean Beauty Seafoods. So the things to do are:

          1. Email Ocean Beauty Seafoods, telling them of our disgust at their neglect. (I presume that intentions for a boycott could put them on notice to the public's outcry.)

          2. Email USF&WS requesting appropriate action to be taken.

          Let's do it! -Rev. S
