RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - President Bush, on his first visit to this oil-rich kingdom, delivered a major arms sale Monday to a key ally in a region where the U.S. casts neighboring Iran as a menace to stability.

I thought that this had to be approved by Congress. They have 30 days to reject it.
Bush can't do this by himself, Congress has to agree - and this must have been discussed over the last few weeks???

The problem is that we need to trust some of those "Arabs".
Whether you like them or not they are the people in the middle east that the world and us have to deal with. The Saudis have been our allies for more than 50 years and during that time I don't remember any overt treachery for them. We need to have allies in the Arab countries and Saudi Arabia seems to be stepping up to the plate. I guess we'll have to try to trust them.
