Posted By monte-g 1 year, 9 months ago in Business & Finance

Apparently debasing the dollar is not solely the province of the Fed and the Bush administration.

I wonder if the same techniques used for smaller denominations such as $5 bills would be spotted.

These counterfeiters are not very intelligent!!

Why would anyone print a tanking monetary unit of currency?

The Fed prints enough funny money and they probably printed these secretly for Washington's graft and corruption. Our politicos get the real stuff from our lobbyist and Corporate powers that are.

      Cynical, you bet.

how many people have access to the real paper and the real ink and the rest of the technology needed? the entire group is entirely within our government.

who are the two groups that spend the most money outside our borders?

        the military and the cia.

        looking elsewhere is unnecessary.

It is not common knowledge. I have read that the Federal Reserve ( A group of international bankers that call the shots of the US government)is printing US dollars in South Korea because printing costs are less.

So the Fed's got the printing presses running 24/7 and now someone else is printing too? This ought to be addressed as soon as possible or our dollar is going to become far more worthless.

Claiming the few millions they have -so far- captured doesn't pay for the operation of the presses is disingenuous. Right there in the article it is made pretty clear that these are HARD to spot. It seems there could be a LOT more of this in circulation than they know about. It might also be something in the nature of a "trial balloon" to see which of their techniques is really the best.

You've got to wonder how someone can maintain the ability to print what amounts to real currency - and keep it a secret.

The CIA is something else man. Someone over there knew what was going to happen on 9/11, they're linked to Pakistan's ISI who bankrolled the attacks. Now this weird perfect counterfit, what's next I wonder? We have no idea what they do,for all we know they were involved in the Kennedy assasinations! I just don't trust them at all.

It's the CIA. 9-11! How about a few of the workers in the mint creating their own retirement programs. They're saying around $ 2M per year. Very small scale. Because of the perfect copies, that tells me the leak is inside. Time to fully audit the mints. Check what comes is, what goes out and how much product is wasted. We're talking 20,000 $100.00 bills. At 100 bills a page, we're only talking about 200 pages of money. Make one page disappear every night or so and you've got the estimated $ 2M.

As to the CIA, they have an unlimited budget so I don't think they'd bother printing US currency. They'd copy the Euro or some other country's money.

As to international sources, North Korea might have the will I don't think they have to tools. Russia, China or Iran have tried before. However, $2M/year seems too small for the KGB/FSS, Chinese Army or Iran to waste the time. To do what they say would require huge cash investments for such a little payout. This sounds like an inside job.
