Where did i say anyone was out to "GET ME"? I didn't say it nor did i think it when i typed that comment. What i meant was the rich have no conscience, and they don't care about anyone but themselves, or who they have to step on to get to the top.
You say you're not bad off, but you could be better! HA! Is that your way of saying you already have a cool million but want two, or do you have two and want four?
Your moniker tells me all i need to know about you, GoldStandard! MORE MONEY, MORE MONEY, MORE MONEY, that's all some people think about. Save that almighty dollar, hope when you wake up tomorrow it will turn into two, and on, and on. I know all about it, i have family members that are the same way.
Maybe you need a visit from the ghost of Christmas yet to come.
OOPS, gave you a positive, sorry!

So? Making money through consensual, honest means is hardly objectionable.

You know what, i don't care, go to it. Have a ball, counting your little pieces of silver, HAHAHA!!
I am retired, have a good retirement, worked hard, donated some, saved some, live well, but don't concentrate on it and help anyone i can when i can, and never worry about saving the almighty dollar.
When i die, i won't take a dime with me, neither will you, but hoard it all up, then someone else can spend it when you're gone.

not2needy - You come off as believing anyone who is rich is evil and greedy and somehow is depriving people of a home to live in. The homeless are mostly a different breed and generally choose to be that way (not the desperate unemployed but ones who never work and choose not to). I for one respect those who made a lot of $$ if they did it honestly, such as Gates, Buffett, Walton, Winfrey et al. I wish I was that smart. If I do get rich however I will let poor homeless starving people to take care of my lawn for food & shelter and even eat all the grass they want. Quite the opposite is true in that the rich have mostly created jobs and industries that greatly benefit our country and their inventions become the very basis of defining poverty and oppressed today. It matters not whether they are greedy, or count their silver. Today if you don't have a car, TV, microwave, computer, cell phone you are considered poverty stricken. Elsewhere poverty is real - NO food, much less shelter.

I am not begrudging of anyone with money, i have some of my own, but i don't worship it, and pray for more the way some people do.
I was a social worker for 22 years, and dealt with a lot of homeless people. They are a different breed, but not because they are lazy or don't care or choose to that life. Many, the majority of them are mentally ill.
They may be drug addicts or alcoholics, but in a lot of cases they know there is something wrong, don't realize they need medical care, or don't have insurance or the means for medical care, so they self medicate. People should be careful of passing judgement on these people, we don't have a clue why or how they ended up where they are.

cont.
One of my clients was an attorney, I don't know what happened to him, but for some reason he just dropped out of society, and started living on the streets. Many of the homeless are well educated that have had disasters happen in their lives that has caused them to have break downs and with no support or care, they end up on the streets.
Ronald Reagan stopped funding for many facilities for the mentally ill during his presidency and the majority of them ended up on the streets because they didn't know how function in society.
So many people are so fast to judge the homeless, "they are where they want to be, they are druggies, they are alcoholics, they are lazy, shiftless and worthless" NOT TRUE in the majority of cases.

Also, i don't mind if I am taxed a couple of extra dollars to provide medical care for the uninsured, but there are so many of the conservatives that scream bloody murder if they think it's going to cost them a single cent to help anyone else.
Why is it that these people think it's a crime to help their fellow human beings? I'm glad i don't have that mind set, i feed stray animals, certainly i can do something for a human in need.
