It's time for Archer Daniels Midlands to cash in. The oil companies, HMO's, and big pharm have got their billions, and now it's time for the food brokers and the huge conglomerate owned farms to get their share. The idea of ethanol is not to ease the energy crisis but to generate even more wealth for those who already have 90% of it. This is the goal of Bush Republicanism.

There are dozens of non-food crops, and even crop by-products like rice straw, that can be fermented to produce ethanol, but that is NOT part of the plan.

if ADM has republicans to thank, then please explain this. The Archer Daniels Midland PAC for 2008 has given this way:

House Contributions of 1,000 each to:

      Braley(D-IA), Hare(D-IL), Oberstar(D-MN), Pomeroy(D-ND), Taylor(D-MS), Johnson(R-IL), Smith(R-NE), Upton(R-MI)

      House Contributions of 2,500 to:

      CHARLES B RANGEL(D-NY)

Senate contributions of 2,000 each to:

      Harkin(D-IA) and Roberts(R-KS)

      Senate conbtributions of 3,500 to:

      DICK DURBIN(D-IL)

It appears by simple math that most of their money is going to Democrats.

Explain this? Easy. There's slime in both sides of the aisle. It's a matter of opinion on which side it's thicker.

I tally 13K to Dems and only 5K to Repukes. Is that all the cheap bastards gave?
