I'd not heard of this Muslim festival. But judging by the photos, it is an all-male affair, not a woman in sight. I guess discovering "how we can best attain peace in this life, and the one after death" is an objective considered unnecessary for the women of Bangladesh. I may of course be wrong.

In fact this particular gathering takes place almost every year and their preferred destination is always Bangladesh and their main head quarters located in New Delhi. But this is one of the biggest passive movement in Islam, unfortunately it has no vision to achieve anything politically or socially as such It is not a powerful Islamic movement which has no political clout with millions of people, they are completely living outside the real world and they don't even know if the world exists in front of them, they don't care about anything, they are satisfied with praying five times a day. Their contribution to Islam is nothing much.

The nurturing of spirit is absolutely the best contribution a person can make to their chosen religion. A religion is as good or bad as those who represent it, & to act with peace & wisdom is the highest honor a religion can be paid. To act with knee jerk, arrogant condemnation of others is the lowest.

Once again DAYLIGHT has proven that he is a TERRORIST and a RADICAL MUSLIM. "Satisfied with praying 5 times a day", one would think that in all the major religions this is one a the best things we can do. I do agree that this SMALL group has little effect on the major RADICAL, and Political Islam as we all know it. THIS SMALL group are probally against terrorism and such acts. DAYLIGHTS comments shows again this is a religion of TERROR and HATE and only a few follow the teachings of a peaceful Islam and as he said these few have little effect on this religion of the Devil himself.

There will be no peace anywhere until all of the religious ninnies of the world realize there IS no life after death. It is a pipe dream, a fairy tale. This life is the only one we have. Blowing yourself up in the supermarket in the name of Allah or going to Africa to convert the heathens to Christianity is NOT going to get you eternal life. So let's work on THIS life, as it is our only option.

Rwrnae: Doing things does not get anyone eternal life. But Jesus said: "Verily, verily (it's absolutely true), I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life." It's faith, not works or doing things.
Now you may not believe, but that doesn't mean that others are "religious ninnies," when they do believe in Christ. Many lives have been change from the dregs to joyful & purposeful living, when they trusted in Christ.
I know that there is also numb religiosity, but there is true belief, in which Jesus offers forgiveness & eternal life to those who believe in Him as the One who died for their sins. -Rev. S

rwrnae- may I add to your comment "lets work on this life, as its our only option" well that is the problem. Man keeps thinking he is the God of this earth as if he was in control over it, but the fact is Man has No control over it. He can not control life or Daeth. He cannot control thr rising or setting of the sun. He has not been able to control his own greed, or even manage the gifts that God has given to him. There is more than enough food to feed the world over, so why is there hunger? Not because God has not provided but man has tried to control the resourses for personal gain.
