Well Radio , I was fourtunate [ or not ] to have met some first hand in the area where I'm at now .Hatred is never a good thing . It's always worse when aimed at a person because of their Race [ I thought we were all one race , the Human Race ] , Creed or Color . I've witnessed hatred between two nieghbors who ran a fifty yard long fence six feet high between their houses because one was Catholic and the other Protestant .Unbeleiveable .

I'm reminded of a great TV series in the 60s, talk was ramping up about nuclear war, the only way to stop hate from destroying the world (literally) was to invent a fraud common fear that everyone could join in together and hate!
Outer Limits (original)

"hmmm...Maybe the BIGOT Maher is actually a closet Islam radical."
No, the Bigot Maher is nothing but a closet COWARD. Too chickensh*t to say anything negative about Islam, for fear of getting his head sawed off on TV. But he'll go on and on and on, trashing Bush, trashing the U.S., trashing every other religion, because he knows he's safe.
What a COWARD. What a Dweeb. And an ugly son-of-a-beeyotch, too.

So, if we think about that, shouldn't we just let everyone speak? Then you can be angry enough about the treatment of Christians by Bill Maher that you can convince enough people that he needs to be marginalized. If enough people quit watching his show then HBO will shut it down because it's no longer profitable.
I still say that shutting someone down because you disagree with them is not conducive to freedom and free discourse.

Bill Maher is a comedian. I don't see him as any kind of a bigot. He makes fun of all religions. He uses humor to make points. Don't like what he says? That does not make it bigotry. Turn the channel. Can you expose him as a liar? Do it. Let's hear the bigoted statement that you are upset about .
Everything he says on television is on the internet somewhere.
Let's see what it is specifically your talking about. If you can refer us to the comment, you may find many willing to agree, if not it's just another straw man argument.

Do you think that's an appropriate way to talk to someone who addressed you politely?
Can we not have a polite conversation about the issue at hand without the name-calling?
Further, I'm not "sticking up for him" I'm saying that if you disagree with him then gather your forces and marginalize him. We don't have to censor people to marginalize and trivialize them.
Please refrain from calling people names, it doesn't help your cause.

"I'm no bigot, I HATE bigots."
Hating bigots is bigotry. You're a bigot who doesn't know it and therefore won't admit it.
It's exactaly like saying "I never lie, never have and never will." because in saying that you just did lie.
You are neither profoundly related to nor grounded in reality. aka nonsentient.
I especially admire Maher for stating that "to not have a lady (mistress) on the side shows voters I'M NO GOOD AT MULTITASKING."

Hahahah but he has yet to refer to them as knappy-headed-hoe-Christians so I think he should stay on the air.
I agree with him that believing in supernatural creatures is mass delusion. So I'll keep paying for HBO thank you very much.

second:
That's right; YOU DON'T get it!
what's your IQ? 20?
Maher "trashes" and thrashes everything and anything that is fundamentally WRONG!
I have never seen a person who scores so consistently correct in so many diverse issues.
Yeah! he's sarcastic in his way of delivery. but So right!
but you need so much intellect to "Catch on" or "Tune in" to the frequency.
"Huh???"
Mahers, is a true intellectual.
(but you "don't get it.")

markoller: "Is disrespect towards the Nazi Party bigotry? Is disrespect towards messiah Charles Manson bigotry?"
No, it is not, and there is no double standard there. The Nazi Party had caused tremendous suffering for many millions of people. I don't know what they stand for now because I don't keep up with their platform, but I suspect it's along the lines of the old Nazi Party. It's what they did that I object to; my problem is not that they have a different view of the world from mine. Any group that mistreats others for who they are is scum in my eyes.
Charles Manson and his followers are murderers. Had they stuck with whatever they believed in without hurting others, I would be completely indifferent to them, but when you cross the line of hurting others, you open yourself up to legitimate condemnation.
You can say that Christians hurt others too. If and when they do, I condemn those actions too.

LOL. From this past Sunday's readings:
Reading II
1 Cor 1:10-13, 17
I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that all of you agree in what you say,
and that there be no divisions among you,
but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose.
For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers and sisters,
by Chloe's people, that there are rivalries among you.
I mean that each of you is saying,
"I belong to Paul," or "I belong to Apollos,"
or "I belong to Cephas," or "I belong to Christ."
Is Christ divided?
Was Paul crucified for you?
Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel,
and not with the wisdom of human eloquence,
so that the cross of Christ might not be emptied of its meaning.
