We no longer need to question the patriotism of the Berkley City Council or Cope Pink. By their actions they have made clear that they have none, at least for the USA.

When I first saw this, I assumed it was satire (in some form)....
Then I realised it wasn't....
How about deployin a single platoon of marines to the recruiting office. Unarmed, but with orders to "protect with all due reason & force" the right of entry....
Wonder how long they xxINSERT EXPLETIVE HERExx would last ??

Strip Berkeley of all federal funding. If they feel so strongly against the Marines, let them fend for themselves.

I did not serve in the Corp, however I was in the Air Force and understand GridCord's statement ...now for BoBo's idea regarding posting a band outside the Mayors house .... can I help drive the band members there?
Maybe when Berkely is under Mexican rule again they will appreciate the U.S. Marines and all they did and do for us .... Berkley is just the cesspool for California and their Liberal rights(?)

Well, they don't call Berkekely "Berzerkely" for nothing. It's supposed to be the "Question Authority" capital of the world, as long as it's authority that isn't Liberal, Communistic, Atheist, Gay, Anti-Christian, or Islamic... DEFINITELY don't question it if it's Islamic. I'm surprised the place has campus cops. I KNOW they do, because I applied to be one there.

Regarding Berkley, I advocate doing all of the above and then sending them a bill requesting repayment of taxpayers dollars sent there for the past 45 years.

While I think the Iraq invasion was a strategic blunder of monumental proportions and the occupation of Iraq has been frought with tactical blunders that have cause an Iraqi civil war. Targeting these grunts does no good what so ever and goes nowhere in punishing the individuals responsible for those decisions.

You know just one thing I find really funny? Change The Marines to "gays" and you guys have been doing the same thing in almost every red state in this union. And if they're gay marines? well they're even worse cause they're gay AND they're corrupting the Marine corps, you really need to look at yourselves before you go pointing fingers.
That said, I don't agree with what Berkley did but I'm not going to protest it, sure it's screwed up but that doesn't mean we have the right to make ALL Berkley students suffer.

Maybe 'we the people' need to declare Berkely Ca. as "unwelcome intruders" in the Union.
They haven't quite figured out this is not the 60's and pxssing on superman's cape by chanting anti-war slogans and chaining themselves to doors is soooo out of vogue.
I like the band idea but maybe the Marines should do a "Recon In Force" to check out the area around the Mayor's house for possible hostile activity before deploying the band with subsequent support from air, ground and artillery units.

Once again, you have people who refer to themselves as "intellectuals" doing things that are truly short-sighted. So what is Berkely trying to state when they call Marine recruitment offices "unwelcome intruders"? Where is it written that these students have any right to proclaim anything as thier own? They own nothing but the shirts on thier backs. They all should apologize and be thankful that a few of America's finest don't go down there and let them know how Marines deal with the "enemy".

Well if they need the funding then let them re-evaluate their stance on this issue! Deny them funds until they come into compliance with the law and decide they are citizens of the USA and not the former USSR!! or Iran!

I am a liberal to the core, but I strongly condemn the actions of these radicals. They do not represent the finest ideals of the liberal movement.
I condemn their speech and their actions, just as much as I condemn the old "Love it or leave it" rhetoric of Spiro Agnew, as much as the labelling of liberals by conservatives as traitors, cowards, or terrorist supporters, as much as the mindless rabid rhetoric of Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Bush, Cheney, Rove, etc.
Both the actions of the Berkeley radicals and the ultra-right neoconservatives are un-American, abhorrent, and divisive.

Those code pink idiots or pinkos don't seem to understand that becoming a marine is the right of an individual and trying to block their right is an act of fascism. Those women are nothing but deranged nazis; just like the nazis at Berkeley. Pretty stupid for college students. The only thing Berkeley teaches is fanatical fascism and blatant arrogance. The students attending Berkeley should receive a full refund for their education and Berkeley should then be shut down. People aren't any smarter when they graduate from there; they just become bigger iceholes!
