Feb. 3, 2008, 10:16 p.m."The Giants beat the Patriots, 17-14, to win Super Bowl XLII and thwart the Patriots' quest for perfection. The Giants' defense stops Tom Brady and the New England offense on fourth-and-20. It is the Giants' third Super Bowl championship."
All I gotta say is: YES!!!!!

Feb. 3, 2008, 10:38 p.m.That was one of the best SB's I've ever seen. How does this rate on the list of greatest upsets? Giants D was awesome.
That deserves a standing O!

Feb. 3, 2008, 11:06 p.m.Right on Giants. The better QB today was Eli. The Giants Defense was suffocating. I'm glad to see Strahan get the taste of winning it all.
Loved the last drive and the fantastic catch by Tyree to keep the drive alive. Of course Manning had a great escape to be able to make the throw.
This ranks up there with the Bronco's over Green Bay when Elway sacrificed his body for the first down, to keep a drive alive for the winning touchdown.
Congrats BB.
Eli and Peyton back to back Superbowl MVP's and winning QB's in the SB. Now thats a brother act I don't think you'll see matched in our lifetime.
I wanted to see NE lose they were to cocky all year they won some games they should have lost.
Denver will be back next year.

Feb. 3, 2008, 11:33 p.m.I've been a Giants fan since 1970. There have been a lot of ups and downs since then, but this win was really sweet.

Feb. 3, 2008, 11:41 p.m.Thanks for the quick thread BB, I saw the result just before going to lunch, here. I guess you're elated -- from reports I saw, it was a nail-biting finish & I guess the better team clinched it.
Go easy on the celebrations!
Best!

Feb. 3, 2008, 11:56 p.m.They deserve all the credit. The fabled Pats didn't loose this game, the Giants WON it.
I said after the final season's game where the Pat's eked out a victory in the closing seconds against a determined Giant's team that I had great respect for them and for Coach Tom Coughlin. In a game that they had no need to win, they came in and played their hearts out, and almost beat the Pats.
They proved to themselves that day that they had nothing to fear from the Patriots. New England lost any air of inevitability they might otherwise have enjoyed.
Interestingly, all the teams that did the logical thing in the same situation, and played their third string didn't even make it to Arizona.
Of course, living in Boston, I wanted to see the Pats win. But if they had to loose, I can't think of a more deserving team to be the victors.
And my vote's with AG. Coke is hands down winner of the Commercial Bowl. Won't make me buy it, though.

Who dah big bad rooster now home boy? Where are you HB? Avoiding me now? Hiding? Well you can run, but you can't hide Jack!

Feb. 4, 2008, 3:01 a.m.Caught the last few plays of the game and I'm very happy with the results of this Super Bowl! Being a Rams fan I was mainly paying attention to college ball this season though (at least the Tigers had a winning record, and then some!)! Love to see the underdog win!
