He's not tough enough & his staff will not be up to it. He will not be right ...from day one.
H.Clinton - no matter what arguments can be attempted ...will have the same calibur of staff that Bill put together. It's the staff that makes a difference.
Too bad every Presidential candidate wasn't required to reveal their choice of staff.
End of story.

Obama has raised 4.6 million since Polls closed on feb 5th, Bill and Hillary just opened their purse to put in 5 million of their own money, I just gave another 50 to Barack.
I find it interesting that Hillary has taken more money from defense contractors than any other candidate but is now broke, weird.

Good for you; Jordan11. Obama doesnt have a record ...and hasn't had time to have enough skeletons in his closet.
Obama is a sneaky sneaky liberal.
Hillary has shown that she can focus & is a team player. Her character is strength ...she will be the first woman President in the USA.

Senator Obama is, in my opinion, the only real choice, not just for the Democrats, but for all Americans. I believe, based on his speeches and what I've read from him, that he will respect conservative issues such as government spending, national defense, securing the borders and tax reform. I also believe that he will respect liberal issues such as the war in Iraq, education, health care and the environment.
While doing all of this, I also believe that he will advance American issues such as fighting terrorism, building a strong economy and improving quality of life for all Americans.
One America. One People. One Republic. United we can not fall and we will not fail. Can we do it? Yes we can.

I am not as sold on Obama as the rest of you...maybe because I have been studying him closely for some time. He uses the I/me word excessively for one thing, and comes across a bit on the too slick side. I may be wrong...only time will tell.
I will vote for him if he is nominated as I don't see any of the republican candidates improving our lives.

I don't get your problem with his use of I/me. He IS the person running, isn't he? Who else should he be referring to? The buck stops with him, does it not? I like the fact that he remains thoughtful and keeps a cool head under pressure - much rather have him control that red button than a hot head like McCain or a wishy washy Hillary! I think he's the genuine article (or as close as we're gonna get to it) and he comes under more scrutiny than many of the other candidates. So far, he comes up smelling like a breath of fresh air!

WILL BARACK OBAMA PULL TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ AND QUICKLY SEND THEM TO AFRICA?
SIMPLY BECAUSE ACCORDING TO HIS CHURCH THEY HAVE A NON-NEGOTIABLE COMMITMENT TO AFRICA, SO WOULD HE USE HIS POWER AS THE PRESIDENT HERE TO INVADE THERE?
IF THATS THE CASE, I WONDER IF OBAMA'S PRIORITY WILL BE AFRICA OVER THE U.S.'S PROBLEMS? IF SO, THEN THINGS WON'T "CHANGE" MUCH FROM THE PRESIDENT WE HAVE NOW! THE ONLY "CHANGE" THERE WILL BE IS WHAT COUNTRY THE U.S. WILL BE FORCED TO BE IN, BEFORE DEALING WITH OUR OWN U.S. PROBLEMS.
ESPECIALLY SINCE ONE OF OBAMA'S COUSINS HAS HIGH POLITICAL PULL WITHIN THE AFRICAN GOVERNMENT.
JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

that is my fear with this fella getting into office, I have nothing against religion but its a personal thing and should not be fourced onto others, just like issues in another country are not our problem we have enough issues of our own to deal with here. I believe there were 75 homeless people died in 2007 in Baltimore. why? where is the help for these people, these american people. I have no issues with any race, I date outside my race. I just hope if this fella gets into office he dont use the race thing against no one. I say if your american you should help out the americans.....

I've read one of the articles for which you'd posted a link, and it's pure garbage. It tries to link Obama to Kenyan politics not by what he has done or said but by what they have done or said. The only potentially factual information about Obama in the whole article is that he talked to his cousin on the phone. Even that is dubious though. So what if he has? Don't you talk to your cousins? That doesn't mean that he is planning a military intervention. The whole article is just innuendo without any facts to back up anything.

I don't see how Obama's "I've been against the War from the Start" even can Factor in. After all, he was NOT in the Senate when the vote went down At the Start of the Invasion of Iraq.. so Technically he can't Say how He WOULD HAVE voted.
People need to realize, this person stretches the Truth alot.
People need to ask him about his ties to Kenya and how there is always that small chance he will pull troops out of Iraq, and send them there. There is Always that possibility.
We need a President who Will be more set on Fixing America, instead of having Priorities anywhere else.
Hillary Clinton will be the Best Candidate for the Job.

My 92 year old mother hit that on the nail on the head, the morning after the Iowa primary. She is usually so right she can be despicable. She should know, My father was one star of a general, fought World WarII, Korea. My brother and a cousin fought VietNam. You have to see the reasons for some of the endorsements. Those big ones more and likely have holdings they don't want to loose in South Africa, this mighty world trade thing. What has world trade done for the middle class of America and the poor of this nation?

Let me ask you a question MilitaryWife. Rather than asking a bunch of hypotheticals let's talk about records.
Senator Clinton voted to authorize force in Iraq.
State Senator Obama spoke out against the war before it started. No, he couldn't vote for or against it in the Senate, but he did speak out publicly against it repeatedly before it was voted on.
Would you ask the same question (regarding Kenya) if the potential President had ties to Ireland or the Pope or Israel? If so, then I think that you need to clarify what you're saying.
What has been said about his church is mostly spin from the talk radio people. They (Hannity, O'Reilly and Limbaugh) know that the most dangerous person to them is Senator Obama. You see, they live on division. They prosper when we speak lies and half-truths and spin. Senator Obama is about change and unity. They can't spin that. They want politics as usual. Senator Obama does not. And neither do I.

After Bush, I think we should all want to thoroughly examine who our Next President could be. Since Obama wasn't in The Senate to vote during that time, we really can't say How he would have voted.
But I've seen lots of people who believed the Lies at the start (Iraq)& Now have worked to try and do Right.
Yes, that same question Would and Should come up if you see a potential Presidential Candidate as having a reason to want to start a New Invasion of a different country.
It's Called Common Sense.. we don't need a NEW IRAQ situation, and a president who could possibly have a reason to want to start into a new country.
Sorry, but I don't know what Spin Talk radio has been Spinning about Obama. I'm just going by what Obama's Church's Website says on its site.
www.tucc.org
It seems more like Obama is the Republican Choice, because even in the media shows it maybe because Hillary Clinton is more of a threat to them.
It takes more than Great speech writers to be a Great President!

My concern is why the Republicans want Barrack to get the nom and I believe I understand it. Hillary is beloved by hispanic voters they will vote for her. Their second choice would be McCain because he has a good track record on their issues. Obama is an unknown to them they won't vote for him. So if Obama wins the nod and does not have a running mate that the latino community adores the McCain will get the latino vote and win the election.

not2 - did you know that he stated thie?
"As for Pakistan, Obama said that if President Pervez Musharraf were to lose power in a coup, the United States similarly might have to consider military action in that country to destroy nuclear weapons it already possesses. Musharraf's troops are battling hundreds of well-armed foreign militants and Pakistani tribesmen in increasingly violent confrontations.
Obama said that violent Islamic extremists are a vastly different brand of foe than was the Soviet Union during the Cold War, and they must be treated differently. "

Here is what she has done.
Hillary passed legislation to track the health status of our troops so that conditions like Gulf War Syndrome would no longer be misdiagnosed. She is an original sponsor of legislation that expanded health benefits to members of the National Guard and Reserves. She has introduced legislation to tie Congressional salary increases to an increase in the minimum wage, because she believes if America's working people don't deserve a raise, neither does Congress. She has supported a variety of middle-class tax cuts, including marriage penalty relief, property tax relief, and reduction in the Alternative Minimum Tax, and supports fiscally responsible pay-as-you-go budget rules. She helped pass legislation that encouraged investment to create jobs in struggling communities through the Renewal Communities program. She has championed legislation to bring broadband Internet access, which is so important in today's information economy, to rural America.

"And more
"She authored legislation that has been enacted to improve quality and lower the cost of prescription drugs and to protect our food supply from bioterrorism. She sponsored legislation to increase America's commitment to fighting the global HIV/AIDS crisis, and is now leading the fight for expanded use of information technology in the health care system to decrease administrative costs, lower premiums, and reduce medical errors.
Hillary is one of the original cosponsors of the Prevention First Act to increase access to family planning. Her fight with the Bush Administration ensured that Plan B, an emergency contraceptive, will be available to millions of American women and will reduce the need for abortions.
She introduced the Count Every Vote Act of 2005 to ensure better protection of votes and to ensure that every vote is counted."

All of that is very commendable. I think certain issues that really needed to be gotten rid of is where Hillary voted and what Obama said before the war, everyone makes mistakes and Hillary made one. I also think the argument of where Hillary's heart is in this race should be put to rest, particularly after she put five million of her own into the race. She probably has our best interests at heart. The sexist view that she isn't strong enough should have vanished long ago, she obviously is. There is one issue that she has no power over no matter what she does however. It is unfortunate. she would do a fine job as President if it weren't for this political climate. She is to polarizing and right now we need someone that the GOP will feel comfortable compromising with and who the Democrats like. That is Obama. Obama can win the red states, at least the more border red states like Missouri. The climate is right for a Dem landslide with Obama. Clinton it could be close.

Edwards
As a member of the Select Committee on Intelligence, Senator Edwards worked tirelessly for a strong national defense and to strengthen the security of our homeland. He authored key pieces of legislation on cyber, bio, and port security.
Obama
In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.
If you go to their web sites you will find glowing descriptions of what they want to do. They speak out on a lot of things but they have taken very little iniative in six combined years to actually get it done. Compare that to what Hillary has done is 7 years and explain to me how they are the change candidates.

You're not even being CLOSE to even handed because of your support for your candidate. I LOVE politics. LOL>>>
Edwards:
Sponsored or co-sponsored over 200 bills during his time in the Senate including legislation to: condemn bigotry and violence against Sikhs in New York City, express solidarity with Israel against terrorism, increasing services to Medicare recipients, correct the rules of the Senate regarding employment based on sexual orientation, clear up the rules pertaining to certain campaign contributions, force health insurance companies to provide a prescription drug plan, provide remedies under the Fair Labor Standards Act for employees facing sexual discrimination and so much more.
I could go on, but what's the point. Each candidate can run their smack about their record, the point is, which one do you think will actually accomplish what they set out to do?

Red you said, "In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator."
He may have focused, but he appears to only vote on those things that he thinks will make him look good. The lawyer in him says, I will vote present, but if I don't vote yea or nay, it can't be held against me.

Just Remember "W" ran as a change President with a very short record to judge him on how's that lack of experience working for you? Matter of fact everyone said in Texas he was able to bring both parties together. I still think Obama is not ready to be President, but if he gets the nod and makes a good choice of running mate I will support him. If he makes a bad choice for his VP I will not trust his judgement and will stay home unless a good third party candidate jumps in. I have decided if the democrats give me another ticket that stinks I will not hold my nose and vote for them anyway. Either they get there @#$% together and get me a qualified ticket where someone has actually done something I can look at and say hey that person has done a lot of good work and they seem to get things done or color me gone.

This is for your information, it is long, to be fair and include everything.
By David Mendell |Tribune staff reporter[Chicago Tribune]
September 25, 2004
U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama suggested Friday that the United States one day might have to launch surgical missile strikes into Iran and Pakistan to keep extremists from getting control of nuclear bombs.
Obama, a Democratic state senator from the Hyde Park neighborhood, made the remarks during a meeting Friday with the Tribune editorial board. Obama's Republican opponent, Alan Keyes, was invited to attend the same session but declined.
Iran announced on Tuesday that it has begun converting tons of uranium into gas, a crucial step in making fuel for a nuclear reactor or a nuclear bomb. The International Atomic Energy Agency has called for Iran to suspend all such activities.

cont'd: Obama said the United States must first address Iran's attempt to gain nuclear capabilities by going before the United Nations Security Council and lobbying the international community to apply more pressure on Iran to cease nuclear activities. That pressure should come in the form of economic sanctions, he said.
But if those measures fall short, the United States should not rule out military strikes to destroy nuclear production sites in Iran, Obama said.
"The big question is going to be, if Iran is resistant to these pressures, including economic sanctions, which I hope will be imposed if they do not cooperate, at what point are we going to, if any, are we going to take military action?" Obama asked.
Given the continuing war in Iraq, the United States is not in a position to invade Iran, but missile strikes might be a viable option, he said. Obama conceded that such strikes might further strain relations between the U.S. and the Arab world.

Carter ran on change in economically difficult time and after the scandals. He was a good and decent person but not the right man for the job at the time. Disaster. For the country and he hurt the democrats and put RR in the white house. If he can't pull off what he promises the backlash could result in Huckabee in 2012. I have to feel confident that he will surround himself with the best, I am not even sure he has been around long enough to know who is the best. He is getting advice from Kerry and Kennedy I am nervous about that.

Well whenever a candidate has ran as the change candidate with little real experience to back up their promises the only change the the people noticed was their A@#hole got awful sore. I mean really how much change do you think he will affect with Kerry and Kennedy as his new mentors, those are the very people he is talking about when he talks about the way Washington does business. He may be well meaning but the foxes are helping him build a fence around the henhouse. Give me a break. They are backing him because they want to control him.

I live in Illinois. I'm sorry, but if you manage to put Barry in the White House, expecting him to actually LEAD and DO something, I'm afraid we will all be very disappointed. I hope I'm wrong and that he has matured into a stronger person, but his many, many votes of "present" here in the Illinois legislature and his very slim voting record in D.C. don't promise much by way of strong convictions.

That is right people be sure he can live up to the hype because if he can't it will be someone like Huckbee or Santorum taking that oath in January 2012 and a Republican Congress in 2010. Be very sure that he can handle the job. Don't be like the Republicans in 2000 and elect an illusion that has been created just to be sold to you.

Okay don't take this the wrong way but I do believe him when he says he would not have voted for it. I just have the suspicion that he would have voted PRESENT. That is one of my big concerns he does seem to vote PRESENT a lot when there is a controversial vote like the "move on" resolution. As president he will have to sign legislation or veto it, he can't just stamp it "I READ IT".
