The premise of the cartoon is definitely true. The Republicans have absolutely nothing to offer their constituents in this election. Their nominee is a 74 year old has-been that has basically no chance of winning. So they are once again hauling out the "gay marriage" issue just to get people to the polls.

Gays and lesbians must not be citizens of the United States. We find ourselves with our rights taken away from us in 27 states. The right will argue we never had those rights from the onset of this debate so we are losing nothing. However, I disagree. We are losing the right to wed the person whom we choose. We cannot be wed to the one person we love. Gays and lesbians in other countries such as Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada and South Africa enjoy these rights. Even in Massachusetts, gays and lesbians may wed as they see fit. If two men or two women wish to wed, the law should not be an impediment. Civil marriage should be in place to bring together those who love another; it should not serve as a weapon to thwart and divide one another.

Family Guy is one of those magical shows that drag all the dirty linen of society into the sunlight...

I'm straight,alright...but I am a solid believer in if a right applies to one; it covers ALL...the inalienable rights:Life,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness (Or, as we said in the Fleet;the Happiness of Pursuit)cannot be repealed for one group, just because a loudmouthed Sierra Oscar Bravo says that "They're evil!!!"...

          Hypocracy,murder,theft,and hatemongering....THAT'S evil...

Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with Family Guy. My daughter watches it. I have actually only seen one episode. From the description in the article there may be more to it than I had originally thought. Maybe I should sit down with her and watch a few episodes.

I love Family Guy. And I am gay. They get away with some pretty subversive humor and it always makes me smile.

I have a hard time with someone who could watch that episode and not feel that love is love no matter who it is between.

How can you watch "Longtime Companion" and not feel that our love is no less?

How can you see Sigfreid and Roy perform and not want them to get married?

I guess, since I am not a full citizen of this country that I should pay only half the taxes I am supposed to pay.

Hit those bigots in their wallets. Take away their ability to wage war. Then, if it is cheaper to be gay than it is to be straight, everyone will by telling people they are gay just to get OUR tax benefits.

We are still one of the last industrialized nations to freely allow it's own citizens to be branded and marginalized.

              Sad.
