Larry Sinclair: Welfare Recipient? »
Posted By jovial 1 year, 4 months ago in NewsThe man who claims to have done all sorts of things with Senator Barack Obama in the back of a limo in 1999 in Chicago, is on welfare? Maybe we have a motive for his malicious, fallacious, attack.

The guy is a scam artist, and everyone knows it. As people have been saying for a while now, IF these accusations from a drug addict had any credibility, the Republican party, foxnews, rush limbaugh, Anne Coulter and so on, would be jumping all over them to discredit Obama and the DNC..
Instead the only sites talking about this bs, are places like WorldnetDaily. Which is a site known for such top notch reporting as claiming that the US govt shot down one of the planes on 9/11(aka 9/11 truthers). and that Soy is making kids gay....
I really do not get how people can keep buying into WND's 'reporting'. They are just a right wing conservative version of the National Enquirer.

Professional help, indeed.
It makes one wonder if "American democracy" is a contradiction in terms.
What happened to HONESTY, HONOUR and FAIR PLAY - let alone DECENCY..
The US has some wonderful characteristics, though many of those have been severely challenged during the last few years.
Its crap like this, and that people fall for it - and/or are willing to exploit it whether they honestly believe it or not - that makes the rest of the world wonder whether you're completely nuts, dangerously uneducated or absolutely lacking in common sense, ethics and taste.
The only RELATIVELY polite diagnosis/excuse is that you're a young democracy; an unruly teenager on the world stage.
The very WORST aspect is that this trial by innuendo and outright lies leaves a taint behind, regardless of the truth or falsehood involved. That's why people are still talking about swiftboating.

Too many people look to find bad things to believe about
anyone who can be the leader we seek. This is why so many potential great leaders stay out of the political forum. They harm all of us with this ignorant, jealous and cruel attempt to take down anyone who they do not understand or are told will be bad for them. These methods come from evil people and are inflicted by their ignorant and uneducated followers.
When is the last time you saw a Republican support education?
Not say it, I mean really support it??
They keep those red states dumber and dumber
(They are actually GREY-Confederate states) and they can fool them every time. Education frees the mind!!
That's why they hate professors, college students whose minds are fresh with ideas and belief in humanity.
If they really believed in God, then they would allow
all of us to strengthen the mind, which is a gift that God gave us to use..

"Well it appears that this guy's a kook. I think he needs help. I also think that those that ever fell for the story in the first place could use some professional help as well."
So, let me see if I understand the "logic": People on Welfare are scam artists. He is on welfare. Therefore, he is a scam artist. Is that the syllogism at work??
Hmmm .. maybe if Dems embraced conservative views on welfare reform, this guy wouldn't have a reason to allegedly lie about Obama.
Boy, I know Aidenag is all upset about his hero getting negative press. Next thing you know, people will say Obama did drugs and was a goof-off in school. Ohhh wait, Obama said that about himself. Never mind.

Agree, this guy sounds and looks like a nut. I read somewhere else he is willing to take a polygraph test.
I think, but Im not sure, that people who are nuts can pass the polygraph because they actually believe it to be true.

We can expect to see much more of this.
Jewish functionaries stirring the Clinton-Obama race
Politics â;; As the gap between the front-runners narrowed in the Democratic primaries, the clash between the two Jewish camps has become more heated. Right wing Jewish advisers are almost obsessively occupied with searching for skeletons in the black candidate's past.
http://politics.propeller.com/story/2008/02/18/...
The ZionCon War Party Targets Obama
Politics â;; The War Party's agenda is clear and simple: de-legitimize anyone who advances foreign policy ideas that go against the grain of militarism and slavish appeasement of Israel. Anyone who questions why we are in a war in the midst of Mesopotamia for no apparently good reason is going to be smeared, and brought down.

I did read the story on Barack and also most of the comments but I will not comment about those who voted or commented since most people do gossip in the real world.
My thought when I read the story was that everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame in life and most who do really have no care about who it costs.
I'm sure with the money that is spent in these campaigns we could buy dirt on anyone.

Jovial & Gamahuche: I agree that Sinclair's allegations are dubious. I didn't participate on that "other" story at all. That's no reflection on you, RRJ. I had already seen Sinclair's YouTube video and dismissed it, at least until more reputable investigatory news teams had brought more light to the situaiton. Frankly, I think he may be suffering from a mental disorder of some kind.
Still, I have to wonder at the title of this story...is being a Welfare Recipient necessarily indicative of ill intent? Is it suggestive that he is scamming for money because he is poor? If so, why Obama and why this particular "scam"?
I didn't read the story, to be honest, cuz I didn't feel like signing up for the website. Maybe the "Welfare Recipient" angle is clarifed?

All that's needed for people to start believing these types of stories is a small amount of doubt. That doubt can be as outlandish or as dubious as can be. McCain during the 2000 election was smeared by a story about half-black illegitimate children. The term "swiftboating" became a term fondly remembered by most conservatives as a term used to smear John Kerry. So what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Since the grounds for running with this story's only intent was to smear, why would it not be fair to smear the person who made these allegations? No major news outlet would touch this story with a ten foot pole. It's a smear job that has worked successfully in the past for the Republican party to get their candidates elected. So why not try to use it again? So in closing, I feel no remorse for pointing out what Sinclair really is, a "gold digger". Now let the cards fall where they may.

That is the Key Issue to that story, not that someone found it enticing enough to post,,,, surely knowing the impact it would have on the members,,,, that was my main thought yesterday,,, though I was called a P.O.S. (whaterver that means, maybe someone can tell me) because of whom I thought had the most to gain by it, if this guy was put up to making the video

We don't need to comment, jovial. Your party is beginning to self implode on it's own. As they say, you will find a way to lose.
If this video was sponsored, It's Hillary that has the most to gain from it; trying to slow down the momentum of Obama. To blame it on Rush or other Repubs is ludicrous.
Mr. Sinclair is probably a crackpot. I think most of us who read it considered it trash, but still it seems to spook your side because you know a lot of things can happen and most of them are bad.
We're stuck with our candidate ... time you got stuck with yours

Jovial...I consider myself a conservative but I sunk the story BECAUSE it was scummy mudslinging and we all need to make a stand. I do think that the real story is who is behind this nut. It's easy to call conservatives or liberals names and to make broad generalizations, but anyone who knows politics knows that the sleaze machine runs full-time on both sides of the fence.

While it is true that it's possible to vote for a story one doesn't agree with for the sake of the discussion it generates, I felt that the Larry Sinclair piece went beyond the pale. I really think that it is best not to encourage the Larry Sinclair's of the world (nor the enablers).
By the way, did that post earn a new record in sinks? It was at 62 when I checked in.

The problem is the American people don't have any good choices for president.
The fact that any US citizens would even consider the possibility that Obama is a crack cocaine user tells you something about the candidate.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would have ever even thought a presidential candidate like for example Jimmy Carter could have used hard narcotics.
True or not, a lot of people can indeed conceive that Obama is a bi-sexual drug user. Shows how far US politics have fallen.

This nasty slurring only seemed effective since the 2000 election. It has worked in the last two political elections in a row. With the prevalence of the internet and the audiences on talk radio that have increased, it's much easier to spread these malicious rumors and get some of it to stick. When Jimmy Carter was President most people got their news from the mass media.

If this story is supposed to clear up any doubts about the truth it's failed. Tell me what is there about this article that shows Larry Sinclair is lying? BTW, are you liberals saying a person can't be believed because they are on welfare? If so. Shame on you.

I had to give a sink to yesterdays story....not something I usually do, as I try to practice a bot of tolerance on this site.
At this point, I don't believe a thing in regards to "Larry The Pervert Guy's" claim ....but there will be those that take it as the truth. These are the ones that are " deeply afraid" of Obama. These are not the same people that fear Obamas policies and vision. There is nothing wrong in promoting your personal choice for the leadership of your country..... it is wrong to buy into the crap I viewed yesterday.
If I were an American...Obama would get my vote. He is change.. and that is what is needed. He is natural born leader...that is something that cannot be learned. I see all the objections based on his lack of experience...I don't see these as being valid, as he is will not be alone in running the day to day operations. That being said...what has experience done for the US of the last few years?
Reply-

simonsez1 year, 4 months ago
I agree with you greenmac. Apart from his politics, he has the people skills to be an excellent leader.
George Will, a distinguished conservative writer in my opinion, commented that when he first met Obama, he knew he was in the presence of someone special.
I don't think his plans for the country, however, represent where I would like it to go.

The point is not who voted for the story, which act is the prerogative of Propeller members, but that someone wishes to harm Obama, taking a very, very low road to do so.
Part of the lowness has to do, in my opinion, with the implicit exploitation of homophobia by the "claimant."
Why should any sexual act that occurs among adults and harms no one be defamatory? Would the same story, coming from a woman, be considered equally "shocking?"
Reply-

DavyCrockett1 year, 4 months ago
Larry the Welfare Guy's story may be false.
The sexual act is only part of the accusation. The other part is the hard dope use.
Suppose, hypothetically, that Obama might condone hard drug useage.
Obama has said something like wants blacks to be about 10% of the US prison population (instead of the current 90% figure).
What that means is that he will want to turn a million or two drug dealers back out onto the streets.
Evidently he doesn't think hard dope use is too bad. Otherwise, he would want to keep the dope dealers locked up. Based on his position on this one particular issue it sure is conceivable that he used crack cocaine.
Surely, you don't want your sons and daughters having to look up to a person like that.

What irks me the most, is noncustodial parents paying the state back because the custodial parent receives welfare at the same time receiving child support payments, wages, and profit from a business. To top it off, the agency lets the custodial parent continue to commit felonies. Really fair...isn't it ???

Glad to see this story. I never believed the crap that Sinclair was saying and stated so on said thread. After that- what right do any of you have to question the voting habits of others? I know rdy2rock and I've read the comments of GHOSTWHOWALKS enough to know neither of them would be doing something like that to just get what they considered inflammatory trash to the front page. I mean if you want to get people to change you might begin by setting an example for how they should change. I would advise by not attacking everyone who simply disagrees with you no matter the reason they disagree. Not everyone posting here is guilty of that I know and I'm not naming names of who is and who isn't guilty of it, from my perspective, on this thread.

I read through the thread, I saw similar comments from nearly every conservative Propeller member. It was not accepted as truth or talked about as such. Slamming them on this thread for discussing something that, true or not, is out there waiting to be addressed, is engaging in the same kind of snarky, gossipy behavior you are admonishing them for. Overwhelmingly, I saw comments discussing who might have set this guy up. Participation in a thread does not indicated support or agreement. It shows interest. What aspect they find intriguing is their business, not something to vilify them for.

Yet me bringing this up is beneath me, but it's not beneath RRJ to post that idiotic youtube interview of Larry Sinclair reading cue cards provided for him to discredit Obama.

Ok I voted for this article when it was posted the first time,,and I voted for it again when it came back out. Not that it is anyones business why I voted for it but...I saw this article as a possilbe news story that should be either proven or disproven..ignoring things like this are not my style. I have no clue as to if this guy is telling the truth or not...what I find important is that someone thought the story was important enough to post and it sure looks like plenty of people had an opinion. It is also no suprise to me that there are some people on this site that will find any reason to call someone else names and this story it appears has done just that.
