The most interesting thing about her comment - as well as her previous comment that she wasn't sure she would support Hillary if she was the nominee - is the lack of media coverage. I've been watching CNN and CNBC and I'm stunned at how little play this statement is getting... except for "Morning Joe." That was pretty entertaining.

Although I am very liberal, that statement was a mistake. America is the greatest country in the world to live in. My position as a liberal is to make America ever better, more moral, more respected, and not merely accept the status quo.
She should apologize for this (mis)statement

Although she didn't say it wasn't, the vast majority of what has made it great and continue to be great has nothing to do with recent history, in her lifetime what truly amazing thing have Americans done? I think she mis-spoke, and certainly good has been done and individual Americans have done wonderful things but as a country the truly pride producing events have not been in recent times.

For the first time in her life, she's proud of the American dream. Me too. I went to the polls tonight and voted for Obama, even though it won't count here in WA. Because for the first time in my adult life, I'm proud that the American dream is REAL, & not a pie in the sky dream for so many. I had the choice between a black man & a woman for the candidacy of President of the U.S. And when the results are told tomorrow, my voice will be included. My vote for a candidate I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Yep, for the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country because it's dream is finally real.

Interesting... the Obama campaign is pretty much saying she didn't mean what she said but you are pretty much saying you agree with her statement - the one the Obama's are claiming was misconstrued.
I gotta tell u... it's kind of a sad thing to hear.

What a sad place that live in that you have such hate for your native country.>>>>
I'm afraid you're projecting your own 'hate' there, son. It's people like you that kept the dream down for so many, for so long. But now those days are gone. Yep, today I was finally proud of my country for fulfilling the promise of its dream. (I know, that concept went right over your head...again. No matter, because your brand of 'hate' doesn't matter any more).

I understood what she meant. From her perspective, I can understand her perfectly. But I also instantly knew what the attack dogs on the right would do with this. Much ado about nothing, but when you have got nothing but shameful achievements to run on for the past 8 years, I guess you launch attacks over every tiny error in the speech of your opponent's spouse.

Thanks rimbaud. Is there anything else? You have been the first and only to give me anything on 'The Man'. I respect his stand although the war has clearly turned into a war against al-Queda and I would much rather fight these characters over there than here.
I appreciate your response.
