There is great trouble brewing in the wilds of Afganistan.

The dividing line between Al Quaida and the Taliban, if there ever was a clear one, is increasingly blurred, as their long-term strategies for the country are coinciding.

The country is God's gift to the insurgent (no pun intended) with far more mountainous and inhospitable areas within its borders than Iraq. Once the population at large begins to think that as long as Western military forces remain on Afghan soil, peace and stability will be impossible, the war will be unwinnable. This stage has not yet been reached, but it's getting there.
