Renzi has been on the Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington (CREW) list of most corrupt congressmen for 3 years - glad to see that inspite of Rove guidance to go after only Dems that Renzi is now indicted!
The same CREW list has 22 congressmen on it, all repugs except 4 dems. The only Semnators on the list are 4 Repugs led by the likes of Ted Stevens, the "bridges to nowhere" and you don't have to tell Congress the truth guy!

Though I do belive that any corruption in government is bad and should be dealt with; Isn't it funny that the Feds can always find time to charge GOP folk for stuff like this, yet when it comes to Harry Reid and Barack Obama, their little 'land deals' don't seem to be a problem. Then the usual suspects on this site sit and beat their scrawny little chests about how it's not surprising that the GOP has warts, as they somehow can't see the advanced stages of leprosy afflicting their chosen guys and gals.

If you're a pedophile you can hide amongst the clergy and the public gives you much undo respect. If you're a thief you can hide amongst the republicans who claim to be the most moral.
Of course someone, in this case BoBo would mention the ONE or TWO Democrats. It is a moronic and feeble effort to defend the dozens of Republicans..It may work in the first grade, but we're smarter than that.. Check the score BoBo.
It's approx. 21-4.

so what did happen with that case against "Cold Cash" Jefferson, oh never mind, I forgot we can't talk about that, he (and many others in the past that some choose to forget) he is a Democrat. And then there is the buddy of Obama's that's on trial now. That is if being a buddy of someone is illegal.

Exactly my thoughts! And for McCain to pretend to be surprised by the indictments? Puh-leeze!! The man is his AZ campaign manager, which means he knows him quite well and he also knew about the charges lodged against him. Maybe all republicans aren't corrupt, but it certainly seems that way to me! McCain hangs with entirely too many who are coming up dirty, and he has narrowly escaped prosecution himself for corruption. I can't even believe he's being touted as an "honest" politician! Maybe he's considered honest by republican standards??

KLARRIS, 22 on the CREW list and only 4 are Dems! The only senators being 4 Repug Senators on the list.
Its simple math Klarris that you must have also failed! Oh, I remember now, its the new, new math out in California where someone is correct for ingenuity, not the right answer!

This isn't news.
News would be. Congress, Senate agree Bush, Cheney, and the gang who can't tell the truth. Should be indicted and tried for treason and financial malfeasance.
Congress and Senate rocked as the 95% who are completely corrupt are removed from office and jailed. The remaining 5% are censured and warned they are next if it continues.
American citizens are taking back America.
Ahhh. My dreams. LOL
Thanks for the story Neo.

This might cost the election of McCain who is, dispite all the name-calling, the best Republican to run for office sincee Ike. Yeah he's better than Reagan. This is a tradgedy for the country as well as my party. It breaks my heart.

...he might have been good at one time... but he has been poisoned by rovian tactics... caved on his own anti-torture bill and should not even be saying "...bomb, bomb Iran" when the military he professes to love so much is almost broke... and OBL, the real prepetrator remains free!
I'm surprised McCain hasn't said "it doesn't matter if we get OBL", like Dumya has! Such hypocrisy from all Repugs! You too, Klarris!
Ed, Dumya already lost the election for you by so blatantly revealing the true, vile nature of Republicanism!

Despite saying one of the dumbest things I have ever heard a pol say, "100 years in Iraq", I would have to agree with you and Donald.
McCain is the best Republican to get the nomination since before my time, but he was the best about ten years ago. Now, he is just another sell-out con.
When he said he would be happy with us being in Iraq 100 years, he was sending a message to the powerful elite and the military-entertainment complex that the entitlements would continue or even grow under a McCain admin. So, naturally they are going to promote him and do their best to ensure he wins and the corporate welfare spigots stay fully open - country and middle class be damned.

This is only the beginning,,,,,, they will bring out the savings and loan scandal,, the free jet service and other things (like the NYT did this week) on McCain, but you can be sure to bet you'll hear little about Obama's little sweetheart deal on property as well as his own little 'accusations of untoward sexual conduct that has as much credence as the trumped up charges about McCain's sexual improprieties.
Who do you want for president?
A half crazy white guy that's a bit old or a young black guy that was raised by a hippy mom his entire youth in a counter culture atmosphere, which lead to drug use, which we can't be sure is over, belonging to a church with anti-white leanings. Both have scandals or alleged ones.

Their platform is simple:
1) Democrats do bad too
2) A terrorist is at your door
3) Only Republicans can protect you so suck it up, vote Republican, sell out your children for our profit, and tell the Founding Fathers the Rep Party is wiping their arses with the Constitution

Ah yes - all you "neggars" out there reveal yourselves as rabid Obama acolytes. Negging my remark doesn't make it any more or less likely that he will be indicted. Or less likely that - if he gets the nomination - he will be stained repeatedly by repetitions of the Obama/Rezko story by the republicans. You may not like to hear it, but it's been published in the freaking Chicago Tribune so I'm pretty confident that it's true.

"As part of the alleged scam, Renzi and Sandlin concealed at least $733,000 that the congressman took for helping seal the land deals, the indictment says. They are each charged with 27 counts of wire fraud, extortion and money laundering, and conspiracy connected to the scam in Cochise County, Ariz"
Cochise County, Wasn't that judge Roy Beans county at one time? Think we could dig him up to deal with some of these lying cheating Republicans?

Ah but then who'd run the country 51?
The traitor party that gave Korea and China information on Nukes that advanced them 20 years?
The party with leaders formerly in the KKK, one's that drive off the road drunk and drown women with impunity because of the status of their last name?
A party that has no problem burning a church down filled with innocent women and children instead of just waiting it out?
The party that would steal a young boy from his mother and force him to go live a tragic life in communist Cuba?
A party that thinks every last one of you that vote for them are too stupid to take care of yourselves and want all your money so they can mold you into little robots of the State?

Wow!! A corrupt Repug?!? How can that be? Isn't God keeping his chosen ones out of trouble?
Maybe this is just another nefarious plot by the Clintons. Yah! that's it! The Clintons had a bad land deal first so they are now trying to deflect attention from Whitewater by getting an honest mafioso in trouble!
(THUMP THUMP THUMP, another one bites the dust!)

Ah, you have to love the "Law and Order" Republicans!
Listen, everyone knows that both parties like having their palms greased (Okay, in the case of Larry Craig it's slightly more below the Mason-Dixon line..) but it's so delightful to watch people who run around clutching a Bible and waving the flag get busted for the creeps they actually are.

I am with tchef, the culture of corruption that has strangled democracy is clearly tilted to the right, but that's because the balance of power was grossly tilted to the right. I'd like to believe the democrats would be less likely to sell their souls, and at this time they will be given the opportunity as the bloated corporate bankrolling of republicans has dried up. Now they seek to corrupt the Dems, Murdoch was a heavy contributor to the Clinton Campaign for instance. (Go figure).
The vipers will seek to spread their venom wherever power resides. After Bush, it no longer resides with republicans.

I'm looking forward to a Democratic congress and a Democratic White House. Then the shoe will be on the other foot and the Demos will be under the microscope. It always happens. And it's fun to watch when the tables are turned and people protect and judge and support and rail against the others. Ah, American politics is so much fun because I always know what to expect and can predict it all. Have fun Dems. The other shoe falls and the Repugs will have their fun. Hypocrites all of em. Both sides.

Hey Teech, It isn't getting a BJ. It is exploiting employees. It is about lying to congress. While you are being smug - don't forget the attempt to kill off the Clarence Thomas(SP?) nomination based on saying "pubic hair."
Hey KYRED - Right on!
Bottom Line: This and any future congress needs to purge all the crooks, and needs to apply the same standards of "CONFLICT of INTERESTS" to themselves that are applied to military personnel. Elected officials are in a position of Public Trust, not-opportunistic exploitation. If they can't handle it they should do jail time; first for the crime, and second for violating a trust. I don't like Republican crooks any better than Democrate crooks - they hurt all of us.

Have to say, though, god knows, I hold do affection for Repubs, that I don't consider this a partisan matter.
There'll always be people, on whatever side of the aisle, who are corrupt; those who feel that there's some special "obligation" on the part of the moralizing right not to double-deal are, I feel, naive.
The issue is PEOPLE--and people are notorious for sometimes cheating. It's not right, it's not justifiable--but it is.

Nice to see someone from the left that gets it, illegal is illegal, and like Bobo said very early in this thread, lock them up, from either party, once they are convicted of course, but that doesn't appear that getting a conviction in either case will be much os a problem. Anyway, it's nice to see someone else that is being logical and fair in the way they view this kind of situation. While we may not agree on politics, it is good to see someone else being level headed here, instead of letting their bias rule their thinking. Thanks for giving me some hope back.
