  FTA:

  The jury heard from the mother of Bobby Cutts. Renee Jones' voice trembled as she said her son was a devoted father and a hardworking patrolman.

  Jones also testified that Cutts was a fun-loving youngster and a serious, gifted student who sometimes cried over his class work.

  Prosecutors called no witnesses to support their case for imposing the death sentence.

  I have mixed feelings about the death penalty, but sometimes it is called for.

  My heart goes out to his mother, i can't imagine her pain!

  There are ordinary, garden variety criminals, and then there are those in the positions of trust who commit crimes.

  In my view, when those in positions of trust commit crimes, their sentences and penalties should AUTOMATICALLY DOUBLE!

  Like this ex-policeman here.

  I also feel that when someone commits a crime against an individual or persons, all the financial penalties should go straight to the victim/s, and the State should not touch that money.

  In case of serious crimes involving, rape, violent attack or murder, all the assets of the convicted criminal should pass directly to the victim. The State in all such cases is an arbitrator and has no right to fines, etc.

  When someone carries a badge of trust, they enjoy a lot of privileges. This is the flip side of that coin.

  We have to move to a new world of reality and get rid of all those arcane and unjust laws and penal code.

  How about this for a thought, if you kill a police officer or prison guard it's mandatory first degree murder in most jurisdictions, I think if a cop murders a civilian in cold blood regardless of whether they're on duty it should be the maximum sentence as prescribed by the lay. In a state that has the death penalty then so be it. The police have had a double standard for far to long and are the ones that understand most what the law is for and about, if they choose to break it they better than anyone know just what it means.
