Food shortages loom as wheat crop shrinks and prices rise »

Experts blame climate change as heatwaves caused a slump in harvests last year in eastern Europe, Canada, Morocco and Australia, all big wheat producers. Booming populations and a switch to a meat-rich diet in the developing world also mean that about 110m tons of the world's annual wheat crop is being diverted to feed livestock.

    the world supply is about ten weeks, the lowest in 50 years.

      This too will widen the gap between the haves and have nots .We could use another George Washington Carver and soon .

        kludlow , you are too funny . My buddy used ethanol for his Ford [ugh] Ranger because it was half the price of gas . But , he used twice as much . So there is no savings there . Your third post is what I was gonna say originally . As far as global warming goes , it's minus 8 in the northeast where I'm at and we just got dumped on again with another 18 inches of snow . Global warming my ass .
