He repeatedly stated he will NOT run outside GOP. He is now concentrating all his efforts on his reelection.
Paul said:
"Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican Party, so there will be no third-party run," Paul said. "I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican."

"A well orchestrated campaign by Ron Paul as a third party candidate could upset the whole apple cart for the Repukes and the Dumbocrats."
--I don't know why more people don't jump on the third party bandwagon. Everyone knows that a third party will automatically guarantee that we get a President we can trust to always vote exactly the way we would want him or her to and fulfill our every need and desire.

It won't be a problem in the general election. The GOP can threaten to pull the immunity from the telecoms who illegally spied on us. They can dredge through the skeletons in their cosset and find every corporate interest they have let off Scott free. They will raise trillions!

The Republican party is in shambles. At this point their only hope is that whoever we elect on the Democratic side really messes it up in their first four years in office.
True conservatives need to take back their party. Both parties have good ideas. We need to get our politicians to start looking at ideas for the idea itself and not for where it came from.

here's a great site:
http://www.fec.gov/DisclosureSearch/mapApp.do
this site shows where all the money is coming from and who its going to.
one interesting note:
in donations under $200 (read: donations from normal americans) Obama has raised over $47 million.
meanwhile, clinton has only managed to raise over $18 million in donations under $200, and McCain has only managed to raise over $12 million in donations under $200.
so its clear who normal, hard-working americans are supporting.

Seem to remember when the fund money was greener and more abundant about 8 years ago for the republicans. Now the worm has turned and the crows are sqawking. The reason the money is flowing to the democrats is because this country wants a change and people are willing to pay for it.

http://vacuum-cleaner-reviews.com Much to the displeasure of his colleagues, Obama promoted an outside commission to handle Senate ethics complaints. Obama readily agreed to identify his bundlers. Unlike Clinton and Edwards, he has released his income tax returns. Perhaps most important, Obama has pledged to take public financing for the general election if he is the Democratic nominee and his Republican opponent will do the same.
