Feb. 29, 2008, 9:55 a.m.Not that I can respond to every request, but canadianrancher57 requested that I consider this song to make a video about and I liked his recommendation.
Here's to you, my friend from the north and to all you other Propeller-heads...

A lot of good memories in that song. Great job choreographing those great pictures, with the song.
I know a man who lives in Florida, he is the "Old Hippie"! He is truely stuck in the past, he does play a mean guitar!
Thanks the great idea canadianrancher57!
Another great job Spadecaller, thanks!

Feb. 29, 2008, 12:30 p.m.Thanks for that one Spade, it took me back. Back to when this country was a beacon of liberty and justice, and hope for the working class.
I have tried to hold on to my idealism, but it gets harder all the time.
My kids have called me the worlds oldest hippie for the past 30 plus years, But I am about to give up on our nation as a beacon of anything.......

Feb. 29, 2008, 3:58 p.m.I liked this song from the first time I heard it. To me the hippy culture represented change and change in a peacefull way. During this period of time I had to make many decisions about life and the hippy culture minus the drugs provided a option. Whether one embraced the culture or not they were interesting times and times that may have changed the world in a better way. I am still challeneged by the question should i hang on to the old or grab on to the new.
Thanks Spade, I just stand in awe of those who can create it truely is a gift.

March 1, 2008, 6:41 a.m.Absolutely wonderful, Spade, just loved that (splendid idea from canadianr). I'd never heard the song before but "every one of them words rang true...", and it's a fine testament to a helter skelter age, of which I was a part.
But, you know, there's one very strong aspect of the "Hippie" period which will never "just up and fade away" because it's timeless -- I refer to the discovery of eastern religions, yoga, meditation, etc., and "inner space" by the so-called counter-culture, mostly on the West Coast, during the 1960s. Anyone who's done even a little meditation or yoga is tapping into ancient eastern traditions popularized in the West during the 1960s. (How many young people had their first experience of kundalini yoga while attending the Woodstock Music & Arts Fair?)
Excellent video imagery Spade, but at around 3:29 didn't I spy Van Gogh's boots? It sure looked like the well-known painting, maybe you adapted it.
Good wishes.

I've been trying to adjust for 37 years now. I think it's time the crazies adjust to reality. LOL Maybe Bush and them could try to adjust.
Good music and video
