The power brokers in the US already have a stranglehold on the mass media and use extensively to misinform, under-inform, mislead, and manipulate popular opinion. The internet is now the greatest source for information that would otherwise be very difficult to acquire. We dare not allow mass communications companies to come under control of the power brokers.

Many people have become better informed about current events that directly and indirectly affect them than at anytime in the history of mankind due to the internet.

Propeller is an outstanding example and its just one blog. Consider what would happen if these were "censored". Free discussion and the ability to become better informed would be destroyed. What better way to control the masses than to prevent them from freely learning of and discussing events.

Comcast and others will assure us that they would not restrict the internet. That is what all power brokers say to get their foot in the door. We must not allow this!

Under Dumya, big business has been given a free hand to monitor itself!

I'm amazed the FCC is supposedly investigating. We still have the same Bush appointed FCC chief who used 10 bogus studies to push a law that would have allowed the big media to buy up all the local media stations to limit diversity and further control America. If the FCC is investigating, its only a sham investigation under the Bush adminstration.

Its like the firings of 8 Bush appointed prosecutors because they actually went after Repugs too! Or, the stonewalling of every reported case of contractor fraud and abuse out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Why e-mails during critical points in Dumya's administration are amazingly lost! Worse Than Watergate, as John Dean wrote!

We MUST elect a Democratic President and Congress in 2008. The New Repugnicans will otherwise destroy what little is left of this once proud nation.
