Bush Surpasses Reagan as the "Vacation President" »

I wrote about this in August of last year, when Bush was still trailing Reagan 436 - 418 in terms of vacation days. But according to CBS Radio correspondent Mark Knoller, Bush has now broken the record.

        Bush may have spent 1-1/3 years on vacation, but he spent nearly seven years out to lunch. Cheney has had a lot of scurrying around to do.

        Frankly, I'm not certain there is much a president can't do while "on vacation" today

        Compare that to Congress when they go on vacation. What can Congress do while they are on vacation?

          He was really setting the record... then 911 happened.

          Even when he is on the job we don't get much. His own texas biographer says he never works more than 4 hours a day anyway and his former Treasury Chief (O'Neil) says he loses his attntion span at about 15 minutes into a meeting and Cheeny has to take over!
