I'm so sick of all the terrorism aroud the world today. What nation doesn't get involved with it?
My God!!!! We are turning this world into an armed camp.
What is it going to take for people to understand each other?
You know it makes me want to stand atop a mountain and scream out. Whats wrong with us? Life is precious and we destroy it for what?
Is there no Love left in this world for our fellow human beings anymore?
Thanks jovial. This is just so depressing, no matter what nation has to do it. We've failed to understand the meaning of life and the great gift it truly is.

I guess developing armored buses and accepting suicide bombers is much more sane than treating other people, even of different religions, like christianity and islam, as human beings and making peace with them.
Why does israel wnat to be such a hateful place working on the same wavelength as the third reich?
I guess they need a new chapter to add to the old testament. Their "god" doesn't take their transgressions so lightly.

No, I don't mean just lefists. I mean the right wingers who would kill to get their way as well.
So I respectfully state that all the world needs to realize how valuable life is.
Don't be so smug as to think it is OK for conservatives to kill.
That just adds to the hatred.
If you disagree fine. Doesn't mean you're right, just means you don't see it.
But of course the Far right or Far left always think it is alright to use terror as a weapon against the other. Neither is right.
Terrorism is wrong no matter who does it.

We have far greater problems with terrorist governments such as the US than with individual terror groups.
In Clear Sight of Yad Vashem
Over the years, our attention has been drawn to the close proximity of the village of Deir Yassin to the Jewish Holocaust memorial at Yad Vashem. Jews have been encouraged to visit Deir Yassin, the symbolic starting point of nearly six decades of Palestinian dispossession, and from there to look across to Yad Vashem. Palestinians (if only they could!) have also been asked to visit Yad Vashem - the symbol of Jewish suffering - and to look across the valley toward the birth site of their own tragedy.
But no matter how similar the Jewish and Palestinian histories of suffering may seem, the similarities conceal important differences:

First, by all accounts, and according to any version of the events, what was done to the Jews of Europe took place a long distance from Yad Vashem, while what was done to the Palestinian people took place right there at the village of Deir Yassin and right there throughout the whole of Palestine.
Second, the perpetrators of the atrocity against Jews had nothing to do with Palestine or Palestinians, while perpetrators of the Palestinian tragedy were and are Jews.
Third, the perpetrators of the atrocity against Jews have been roundly condemned over the years and punished for their crimes, and have mostly shown contrition, while the perpetrators of the massacre at Deir Yassin have been honored for their crimes, continue to take pride in them, and live on in their ideology and in their deeds.
Fourth, what befell the Jews had a beginning, a middle, and an end, while the assault on the Palestinians goes on with no end in sight.

You can read about a prominent member of Yad Vashem here:
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1204...
Apparently, amidst the smoke and fog of WW2, he and other jewish partisans, as secret NKVD members, were killing Lithuanian families, ala IDF against the Palestinians, based on name alone, with no evidence to back up his crimes.
Another case of the zionist nazis saying "do as we say, not as we do".
It's too bad israelis have to live with an elite of Double Standards. Hopefully jehoova can help them to write another bit to their old testament fairytale book.

And I respectfully disagree. I know how valuable life is and so do many of the people I know.
"Don't be so smug as to think it is OK for conservatives to kill."
I never said or even implied this.
"If you disagree fine. Doesn't mean you're right, just means you don't see it."

Leave it to hyperDOGMA to turn a story about how Israel regrettably needs armored buses to protect them from terrorists who purposely target civilians into another one of his typical anti-Zionist rants.
The day the Arabs decide they want to live in peace with Israel there will be peace. Unfortunately the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah will settle for nothing less than Israel's destruction and driving every Jew into the sea (Many of whom have lived in Israel for many generations, or are the descendants of Jews that have been forced to flee Arab countries where they faced unspeakable persecution).

Reflections of an Arab Jew
Religion â;; Zionism is destroying much of judaism. For Sephardic (oriental) jews, Israel does not represent aliya (ascent), but rather a yerida (descent). Oriental-Sephardic peace movements not only call for a just peace for Israelis and Palestinians, but also for the cultural, political, and economic integration of Israel/Palestine into the Middle East.

I don't believe that's true. Both sides hate each other immensely, & if ones travels to that part of the world one can feel the hate that comes from both sides. Both sides truly despise each other. Human life is precious & valuable and somehow that concept just seems to elude some people. The IDF is no better then Hamas or Hezbollah. In fact, the IDF has more weapons & is thus more powerful then Hamas is. But, they are both extremly brutal.

Equating an army like the IDF (that goes out of it's way to warn civilians to evacuate when there is going to be an attack against terrorist rocket building factories etc -- which they purposely put in residential areas to deter Israeli attacks) with a terrorist organization like Hamas that hands out candy and celebrates in the streets every time they kill another Jewish civilian with one of their rockets (like they held similar street celebrations on 9/11) -- just shows how ignorant and biased your comment is...
Arab TV stations run programming that routinely calls Jews "monkeys and pigs", and imams give sermons calling for the killing of every Jew. You simply can't find a single Israeli TV program that ever incites Israelis against the Palestinians with such inflammatory rhetoric. Israeli society is thirsty for peace, sings songs about peace, and has many different organizations working to foster peace -- while the terrorists devise more ways to kill innocent civilians.

Must be why the IDF kills 20 times more children than palestinian "terrorists"?
I have a question zimm. Do you really believe these kind of self-serving zionist slogans aimed at covering up crimes against humanity or are you trying to mislead americans?
Deadly Distortion
Associated Press Coverage of Israeli and Palestinian Deaths
....
II. Coverage of Children's Deaths
...9 Israeli children's deaths were reported in the headlines or first paragraphs of AP articles on the Israel/Palestine conflict in 2004, when 8 had actually occurred. During the same period only 27 out of 179 Palestinian children's deaths were reported....
22 times more Palestinian children were killed than Israeli children.
AP reported on 113% of Israeli children's deaths in headlines or first paragraphs, while reporting on only 15% of Palestinian children's deaths.

Yep. Israel's army is a little better organized than the Hamas comedians. Shows you just how foolish they are. Every time they attack Israel, they only bring more misery on themselves. You'd think they would have figured that out by now.
But what do you expect from a society that praises suicide bombers and talks of the 72 virgins they will get in the after-life...

Many Jews Are Questioning Israel
Do No Evil â;; The extent to which the 8 million Jews of the Diaspora identify with Israel is increasingly questionable. Jewish critics of Israel are increasingly willing to make themselves known. The majority of jews have chosen to live elsewhere, voting with their feet and some 750,000 Israeli Jews (15% of Israel's Jewish population) are now living abroad.

The IDF doesn't go out of its way to protect civilians. The IDF harrasses innocent civilians, women & children 24/7 @ the Gaza strip. The IDF humiliates Palestinian civilians at the checkpoints. Water is scare in that part of the world. Israel channels the majority of the water that flows in the rivers there, all the way up to the Litani river, into Israel. The Palestinians are left with much less water.
The IDF is better organized then Hamas because we support Israel. It's pathetic when people look at this conflict from one side. The IDF & Hamas are both brutal, violent, and don't care about the lifes of civilians. At the checkpoints, the IDF just enjoys humiliating Palestinians, including children as little as 2 yrs old and women, even pregnant women.

Instead of developing buses to shield against some Muslim using the license to deceive thanks to sura 3:28 and 16:106 so the Muslim can dress up like a Rabbi secretly strapped up with bombs (al-taqqiya) as he steps onto a bus crouded with innocent civilians, the leader of Israel needs to tell the Muslims that IF a bus explodes DUE to a Muslim ACTING like a pregnant Jewish woman or a fat Jewish Rabbi, or, IF a bus goes up, or, a rocket is fired from Gaza after it was turned over to the Palestinians to make peace, well, the leader of Israel needs to say, "Go ahead, blow up one of our busses, hurt one of our civilians with your rockets, and, within 24 hours, you will be bowing down to glass and ashes five times a day."

The way Islam programs it's believers, the day will come when Pakistan might try to nuke Israel even if Israel DOESN'T take out Mecca. It's pretty much damned if you do and damned if you don't. BUT, as I see if, the threat of having Mecca taken out MIGHT get those who are the most fanatical in Islam thinking twice about committing more evil in the name of Allah because those who KILL for Allah believe Allah is all powerful to the point of saying ""be" ...and it it". IF this same Allah couldn't keep "His House" from being nuked by Israel, those who kill infidels to please Allah MIGHT think they actually may NOT get children to molest in Paradise, and, such a doubt just might keep them from pressing the button on Israeli innocents. Personally, I think a nuke wouldn't do it.

By the way, Isoparm, you said, "using your logic, then Pakistan would be fully justified to launch their nukes at Israel". Could you explain this better? Israel tried withdrawal, and all they got in return was thousands of rockets lobbed at their civilians.
I don't see how you make peace with such a mentality; and I don't know how long Israel will continue to show restraint and keep taking it and taking it.
Israel certainly has the overwhelming might to take back Gaza again if she wanted to... and unfortunately it looks like that day is coming. Israel has no reason to put up with this nonsense anymore, and it won't!
Hamas can declare "victory" all they want, but Israel will go back into Gaza again and again if needed in order to protect her civilians.

Probably has something to do with the fact that the Gazans are simply firing at land and property stolen from them by zionists.
GAZA REFUGEE CAMP PROFILES
The Gaza Strip is unique amongst UNRWA's five fields of operations as the majority of its population is refugees and over half of the refugees live in eight camps. Most of the people who fled to the Gaza Strip as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war were from Jaffa, towns and villages south of Jaffa, and from the Beersheva area in the Negev. In all, some 200,000 refugees came to Gaza, whose original inhabitants numbered only 80,000. Such an influx severely burdened this narrow strip of land; an area of only 360 square kilometers. Over three-quarters of the current estimated population of some 1.4 million are registered refugees; representing 22.42 per cent of all UNRWA registered Palestine refugees....

Excuse me, but Gaza used to be part of EGYPT until 1967.
Israel tried to have Egypt take back Gaza during the Camp David Accords, but Egypt would have none of it. Egypt feels just as threatened by the Muslim fanatics of Gaza as Israel does!
So Israel LEFT Gaza to see if they could live in peace with Palestinians. And instead of Hamas using the Israeli absence to build up a peaceful, productive society, they used Gaza as a base to launch more attacks on Israeli innocent civilians.

I didn't steal the Native American's land, that crime was committed by others years earlier. Those people are now dead. So are the victims of those crimes. I am not guilty of anything. If a Native American wants my land, they can make me an offer. No big deal. As a compensation for those previous crimes, gambling is allowed on so called Indian reservations in California. They are getting filthy rich off this. Good for them. Californians recently voted to allow even more gaming on the reservations. It is the least they can do.
Instead of showing any consideration for the Arabs that had been on their land for centuries, the zionists stole the land, and brutalized the population. No thought was given to the consequences of their actions, nor could they care less.
We are seeing the results of these atrocities. Israel will never know peace.
Just as the case of the Californians recognizing injustice against the N.A's, many Jews are leaving Israel. They are the smart ones.

Israel's Jewish Problem in Tehran
So why hasn't Iran started by wiping its own Jews off the map?
... Iranian Jewish community is the largest in the Middle East outside Israel and traces its roots back 3,000 years. As one of several non-Muslim minorities in Iran, Jews there suffer discrimination, but they are certainly no worse off than the one million Palestinian citizens of Israel â;; and far better off than Palestinians under Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza....

Iranian Jews have little influence on decision-making and are not allowed to hold senior posts in the army or bureaucracy. But they enjoy many freedoms. They have an elected representative in parliament, they practice their religion openly in synagogues, their charities are funded by the Jewish diaspora, and they can travel freely, including to Israel. In Tehran there are six kosher butchers and about 30 synagogues. Ahmadinejad's office recently made a donation to a Jewish hospital in Tehran.
As Ciamak Moresadegh, an Iranian Jewish leader, observed: "If you think Judaism and Zionism are one, it is like thinking Islam and the Taliban are the same, and they are not." ...
.. Despite the absence of any threat to Iran's Jews, the Israeli media recently reported that the Israeli government has been trying to find new ways to entice Iranian Jews to Israel...

To step up these efforts â;; and presumably to avoid the embarrassing incongruence of claiming an imminent second Holocaust while thousands of Jews live happily in Tehran â;; Israel is now backing a move by Jewish donors to guarantee every Iranian Jewish family $60,000 to settle in Israel, in addition to a host of existing financial incentives that are offered to Jewish immigrants, including loans and cheap mortgages.
The announcement was met with scorn by the Society of Iranian Jews, which issued a statement that their national identity was not for sale. "The identity of Iranian Jews is not tradeable for any amount of money. Iranian Jews are among the most ancient Iranians. Iran's Jews love their Iranian identity and their culture, so threats and this immature political enticement will not achieve their aim of wiping out the identity of Iranian Jews."...

Strange world those Israelis live in.
If you drive people from their homes and keep them in limbo for three generations, if you cut off their ability to make a decent living, if you separate them from the graves of their ancestors, if you deny them the right to visit the holy places of their religion, if you continue, after sixty years, to murder them by the hundreds at any provocation--then you might discover that you NEED armored buses.
Yes, it's a strange world, where both sides are deluded into believing that they are entirely right and the other people are entirely wrong.

In the words of the Israeli statesman Abba Eban, "The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
They have been offered a state of their own time and time again. And they keep screwing it up by saying no at the last minute and launching insane attacks on civilians as the one today.
After '67, Israel offered the West Bank and Gaza back immediately for peace. In return they got the famous "3 No's" from the Arabs: "No recognition, no negotiation and no peace".
Clinton was completely frustrated when Barak offered Arafat a state on 97% of the West Bank and Gaza, and instead Arafat launched his murderous intifada.
So don't lecture about Israeli conduct...

"There is no such thing as a Palestinian people... It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn't exist."
-- Golda Meir, statement to The Sunday Times, 15 June, 1969.
"[The Palestinians] are beasts walking on two legs."
-- Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, "Begin and the 'Beasts,"' New Statesman, June 25, 1982.
"Israel should have exploited the repression of the demonstrations in China, when world attention focused on that country, to carry out mass expulsions among the Arabs of the territories."
-- Benyamin Netanyahu, then Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, former Prime Minister of Israel, speaking to students at Bar Ilan University, from the Israeli journal Hotam, November 24, 1989.

Well we could go about this exercise in trading recriminations all day long... and it will get absolutely nowhere.
But here's a real strategy that actually has a chance to bring peace between Israel and the Palestinians (for those who would really like to see peace -- and not just more dead Israelis):
"Forget Annapolis: Nine Steps to Peace"

Just more zionist malarkey. The thieves want to keep the stolen goods and continue the victimization of millions of christians and moslems.
The real answer is one non-religious, democratic state for all the jews, christians and moslems of palestine. I appended a good plan for achieving this to your article.

This is my favorite quote. What arrogance.
"Israel may have the right to put others on trial, but certainly no one has the right to put the Jewish people and the State of Israel on trial."
-- Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, 25 March, 2001 quoted in BBC News Online

I'd like to hear that one for myself... I'm an Israeli news junkie and I never heard any such thing ever said by an Israeli leader. And since we don't know the context, who knows what this quote might have actually been about.
But it still doesn't compare with the never ending barrage of Arab quotes said by Islamic extremists in too many mosques to name, like: "Atbach al Yahud" (kill all the Jews), or Arafat's famous "Jihad, Jihad, Jihad" quote...
Or you can point to any number of broadcasts on Palestinian TV or Egypts airing of the notorious anti-Semitic forgery "Protocols of the Elders of Zion".
Or you can pick your favorite quote by Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah or any of the Hamas leaders urging people to kill Jews wherever you can find them, etc., etc.
But none of that stuff would bother a real anti-Semite...

They hate Israel because a bunch of white people from Europe and other parts of the world who share the label "jew", imposed themselves on them! I would sure as hell be p*****ed-off too if someone did this to me. Why do do you ignore these atrocities? Why do you refuse to hold the Israelis accountable for their crimes? They continue to steal Arab land to this day. Because it is jews committing these crimes, it's OK?
But none of that stuff would bother a real bigot.

How about a quote from Moshe Dayan?
Deatroyed Villages and Towns
from 1947-1949, the Zionists demolished 419 Arab villages When the state of Israel was established in 1948 it became apparant that this Zionist policy was a systematic state-sponsored program to replace Palestinians and their land with Jews and Jewish villages.

Moshe Dayan, Israeli war hero, Address to the Technion, Haifa
(as quoted in Ha'aretz, April 4, 1969)
"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist, not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushu'a in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not one single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab Population.""""

Actually it is you who are ignorant. Mideastern jews take the forefront in condemning zionist racism.

Gilad Atzmon - The Tzabar and the Sabbar
Religion â;; Zionism is a total disaster - colonial, expansionist, nationalist philosophy based on racial chauvinism. Hebraic cultural realty, slang, food, blue sky, sea, desert, spring and autumn, hills and valleys, olive trees... all belong to the land (Palestine) rather than the swelling apartheid State that seized it momentarily (Israel).
