This guy was one of my all time favorite political figures. A guy that spoke his mind whether the press or other leaders liked it or not.......and yes he did inhale and liked it.

I wish some people here in this country could could learn a little about acceptance of others without Puritanical judgments.

          TRUDEAU QUOTES

Canada will be a strong country when Canadians of all provinces feel at home in all parts of the country, and when they feel that all Canada belongs to them.

I bear solemn witness to the fact that NATO heads of state and of government meet only to go through the tedious motions of reading speeches, drafted by others, with the principal objective of not rocking the boat.

Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt.

Luck, that's when preparation and opportunity meet.

          Pierre Trudeau

My life is one long curve, full of turning points.

The essential ingredient of politics is timing.

The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.

We wish nothing more, but we will accept nothing less. Masters in our own house we must be, but our house is the whole of Canada.

These are a couple of interesting videos. Canada and the US have had different approaches over the years. As usual Trudeau approached the situation in a different way...willing to suck up the criticisms and understand Cuba.

I was thinking to myself -- "Right on in 1978? ( 30 years ago)

Then I saw the date March 5, 1971.

                Ahhhh....

Right on was early 70's slang, wasn't it?

I thought Trudeau was a Prime MInister that we could look up to. I was still in high school when he first won and took lots of heat because I liked his ideas, ( I'm in a really conservative area) He was a person who said what he believed and refused to take crap, he was a Canadian that didn't want to sell our country out to the highest bidder, unlike our present leader.

About his marriage, it caused alot of people to stop for awile but out of that marriage there is his son who I imagine is going to take a run at federal politics as a leader and he has alot of the qualities that his father did.

Aside from the personal and political qualities of P T, it's not surprising that the reporting was always gravitating to "...well, what do you think of the age difference?".

Well, it certainly wasn't May/December ala Anne Nicole Smith. It was more like May/September...probably scandalous to some. Not to me. ... . ...Call me July/Octoberish.

LOL!! (Ican't help it if I like older women...LOL!
