Let's assume that the Buggles are right and video did kill the Radio Star. Was it VHS or Beta?

I still like to watch my radio.

I hear that the Internet has set its murderous sights on Network Television. However, I feel that this one is entirely justified.

Video may have killoed the Radio Star but MTV has killed Video.

Anyone remember MTV before 1981? You know back when they actually played music and videos 24/7?

Video never killed the radio star, but, the radio star did seem to be on the ropes in the early days of MTV and later, VH1. Now, MTV and VH1 are pretty much like any other cable channel with their tv shows, fading the video star to the point where the radio star is king again. You KNOW it's king again when you don't know who the latest video star is. The video star seems to only exist in YouTube and Ipod now, coming to life for individual reasons, mostly for nostalgia on my part. Anyway, I've liked that Buggles song since I first saw the video in 1980. It's turning out prophetic, especially when I see video of my girlfriend who now only exists IN video form in play-back that now "seems so long ago".
