"We believe that it has been overwhelmingly U.S. taxpayer money that has funded Iraq reconstruction over the last five years, despite Iraq earnings billions of dollars in oil revenue over that time period that have ended up in non-Iraqi banks."

...why nothing done about that Florida Company that got 32 million to build Iraqi barracks that were never built? Why no investigation by the Bush DOJ into any of the reported contractor fraud and abuse out of Iraq... or the rape of contractor women by contractor men?
One aspect of Condi's contributuion to the Surge was to provide oversight to the minitries in spending US money properly; but, she told Congress it would take 6 months to train up her people to do so! Then Condi had a rebellion of people refusing to go to Iraq. I betcha Condi left this mission on the military just like all the diplomatic efforts in the region!
GAO and Congressional oversight must fill the gap left by the failed, corrupt Bush adminstration!

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if money was being "misused." Not sure how I'd feel if I was Iraqi. Last time I checked, it is still (at least nominally) a sovereign country. So is it under any obligation at all to any organ of the US government?

...after Dumya leaves office! The right bent of the Supreme Court we will have to endure longer; but, of course, Scalia Thomas, Alito and Roberts will forget about support to the Unitary Executive if a Dem wins!!
We also have to eliminate enough of the Obstructionist Repugs in the Senate too, especially the ones still backing Dumya's vetos!

I am really tired of hearing about this crap.. when is our government going be accountable for anything>>>>
When we get GOP hacks out of the Justice Department. That 'Grand old Party' has padded the courts (including the SC), and the Justice Dept. They may be criminals, but they're smart criminals.

Screw that! And as for single payer universal health care for all Americans, don't make me laugh! Those Big HMO's and Big Pharm contributors to the Bush campaign have only made ten times the return on their 'investment", and need a couple of hundred billion more
