well, they ought to legalize prostitution. it would keep it safer and cleaner... and keep our court costs down.
I don't think this man was right for the job of governor. and, not because of the prostitution ring...it's because he wanted to give illegal aliens licenses to drive. he's bad news...
happy to see him GO!

The NY Times did not even MENTION he was a Democrat until the very end of a what is a lenghty story....the AOL/Netscape version did not mention his party affiliation AT ALL!! AMAZING!!
Just more proof of left wing bias in the media (as if we needed any more).

Democrats are the new "me generation" they cheat on wives, they imbrace the illegal immigrant vote, they pander to anyone that will listen to their vote for me, I will fix things... like stopping the war!!
I feel sorry for the wife "make sure it's the cute, petite brunette, about 5'5" 105 pounds" the guy just wasn't having sex with a woman, it was a woman that he was controlling...
there is a mind set that is more than just disturbing.

a month ago, the sentiment on this thread was how conservatives are always behind the sex scandals, and there were even links to prove that point. At the time my response was I could do the same search called "democratic sex scandals" and come up with just as many if not more. Well here ya go...the pot calls the kettle black.

Update - Spitzer just made his statement: all of 20 seconds. He apologized without stating why, and said that he needs time off to regain the trust of his family. No word about resigning. What a guy!
Spitzer is toast - the Democrats in the assembly aren't going to go to bat for him after all the feathers he's ruffled.

fta:
While it is not clear what Spitzer's involvement is in the ring, last week, federal prosecutors in Manhattan filed conspiracy charges against four people in connection with running a prostitution ring that charged wealthy clients in Europe and the United States thousands of dollars for prostitutes. The prostitutes were paid up to $5,500 an hour.
Maybe he's a pimp! lol

N2N I have a feeling he's going to have to step down, and resign, or they'll have to ask him for a resignation. Stephen Jonhson hit it right on the beak. He is shirking the issue by apologizing to his family in a press conference,and he is NOT taking any questions from reporters as of right now. What does that tell yah? There is a culpability involved of major proportions.

Air America's David Bender just announced on the Rachel Maddow Show that the Hillary Clinton campaign scrubbed all references to Elliot Spitzer from their campaign website within one hour of the breaking news!
Yep, I'd say the bus has already driven over him!

His wife did not look like a happy woman leaving the apartment this morning for the press conference. They have been together 21 years.
According to the NY Times: As attorney general, he also had prosecuted at least two prostitution rings as head of the state's organized crime task force.
In one such case in 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island.
"This was a sophisticated and lucrative operation with a multitiered management structure," Mr. Spitzer said at the time. "It was, however, nothing more than a prostitution ring."

(If I may quote myself from a similar thread:)
Oh, yum! Party affiliation is irrelevant--what this is about is:
the hypocrisy of moral posturing;
the ridiculous criminalization of prostitution;
the sense of immunity often shared by high-placed men (and it's always men, isn't it?) from retribution for illegal acts;
willful ignorance of what their enemies might do;
and their inability to place rational constraints on their own libido.
Did I say yum?

JOBS OUT THERE - A "stand-in" job available for a "grim but faithful little woman" type to stand By her man and look staunch but forgiveful for political reasons. Must have all American woman hairstyle, Jackie Kennedy type. Needs to hold hubby's arm to support him. Needs to portray that kind of wife that hubby could be forgiven for not wanting to have sex with, attractive but bland.
Remuneration - chagrin. embarrassment. shoes.

What? Politicians screwing the people - really?!? Is this any surprise, especially those aligned at once with the Clintons? Beware those who claim they are cleaning up the system - they are usually the worst & most cunning infractors.

The only redeeming aspect of prostitution (if there even could be one) is that it is a tool to bust these immoral hypocritical fools who attempt to make fools of us. It seems the people who want & obtain power over others in business & politics many times lack the power to keep their pants on and zipped up. The list is much longer than the number of characters available in this blog...
