Mackey, dogs cross finish line in Nome for Iditarod title »

Lance Mackey on Wednesday won his second consecutive Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, completing the 1,100-mile journey across Alaska in just under nine and a half days.

      This is a great feat. I have two huskies and I want to hook them up and put on my snow skis and mush around my neighborhood!

        Mackey's dogs also quarreled on the trail. He had to drop Hobo, a leader that was badly injured in an ongoing rivalry with Larry, another leader. Some of his dogs were coughing and one is in heat.

          Dogs love to run. What is abusive about letting dogs run? Real abuse would be keeping your dog locked in the house all day and only let outside to go potty.
