FTA: "In the statement he released a few hours later, Mr. Obama, known for his uplifting messages about national unity, professed a certain innocence about his pastor's most incendiary messages."

The key words being "professed" and "a certain innocence". I wonder what kind of innocence, exactly?

FTA: "Mr. Wright is no longer on Mr. Obama's African American Religious Leadership Committee, though Mr. Obama's aides would not elaborate on the circumstance of his departure, and Mr. Wright did not answer a message left on his cellphone requesting an interview."

I'm professing a certain kind of innocence in understanding why Rev Wright is no longer on Mr. Obama's committee...and in understanding why Rev. Wright wouldn't want to be interviewed on the subject.

FTA: "In the interview last spring, Mr. Wright expressed frustration at the breach in relationship with Mr. Obama, saying the candidate had already privately said that he might need to distance himself from his pastor."

If he was innocent of any incendiary remarks, I wonder why he told Rev. Wright privately that he thought he might need to distance himself?

          Curiouser and curiouser!

Here is Rev Wright telling it like he sees it:

Oh watch out Dems, it's from Faux News. I thought I'd better put the disclaimer out there before you come back with the inevitable silly comments. Still, the sermon is all Rev Wright.

Obama is finally being recognized for who he truly is. Let's give him a standing ovation. He truly is the one for the USA at such a critical juncture. I applaud his determination to act in a swift manner to decide what is good and what is bad, where the US is concerned.

Why it only took him 20 years to determine the Rev. Wright was not worth listening to. Heck, the average American would probably have listened for 30-40 years before they would have had the gumption to decide that Rev. Wright is talking crap. Kudos to Obama for making such a swift decision.

We need his kind running the show for sure...

So far, so good. So far, Obama is not using political doublespeak in dealing with the issue and has an open, relaxed posture when dicussing it. His appeal has so far been this honesty, and not trying to shield his past, as if he were trying to keep it a secret. It is his lack of defensiveness, and use of common language, not legalese, that has so far made him more appealing than Clinton. Instead of considering the issue closed, he might want open-up about how the rhetoric works in some Afro-centric churches and why educated people, like he and his wife, would continue to attend. This should settle it, for those who thought he wasn't black enough.

Obama has a long way to go. It is beyond belief that Obama was not in attendance during any of Wrights hate speeches. Consider the reasons why Wright was dis invited to speak with Obama..consider the reason he was dis invited. Obama was betting that none of this would come out and he lost..now it is time to pay the piper.

People will try to compare this with the McCain story but it will fall far short.
