Can GOP Voters Spoil the Dem Race? »
Posted by: ProudBlueTexan 1 year, 9 months agoAs if Democrats didn't have enough problems deciding upon their presidential nominee this year, now they must contend with the possibility that Republicans are deliberately crossing party lines to prolong the bitterly contested race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. March 20, 2008, 6:13 p.m.FTA: Even in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, where the April 22 primary is closed to independents and Republicans, there are signs that some Republicans are going so far as to switch their party registration by the March 24 deadline to participate in what Limbaugh has dubbed "Operation Chaos."
How low can they go? They say each presidential election is the most important EVER, yet their actions tell a different story.

March 20, 2008, 7:33 p.m.As I understand it from the Obamablogs:
If a Republican crosses over to vote for Obama, s/he's a post-partisan voter, transcending politics.
If a Republican crosses over to vote for Clinton, s/he's a Limbaugh dittohead trying to sabotage the Democrats.
Sort of a "with us or against us," which I hoped we were leaving behind.

March 20, 2008, 7:43 p.m.Our system is like Pa's, repubs and indies can't vote in the dem primary, but if they were to switch their party status to vote in our primary to screw with us, it wouldn't surprise me one iota!
Lowlifes! Nothing is more important than winning. They will sell their children to the devil to win in politics. The more i know, the sicker they make me.

March 20, 2008, 9:31 p.m.Don't worry, they won't make much of a difference. Even if they registered Democrat or Independent, they just don't have the manpower. It may be able to work in a tight election, but can't affect the delegate count in any significant way.

March 21, 2008, 11:10 a.m.It appears that the Dems are making a big fuss about this so that a loss in November by them will allow them to use this as an excuse.
"Our candidate lost because the Republicans voted for them in the primary to help them win the nomination then dumped them in November."
That will be the excuse.
