How many of us are really any more than one, two or three paychecks out of the poor house? Or more than one medical crisis removed from bankruptcy?

There used to be a sort of social contract in the United States where is you play by the rules, learn skills, get educated and lead a frugal life that you can get ahead. Not so much any longer it seems.

Those who follow are the first who are likely to be less well off than their parents.

What does this breach of the social contract hold for the future of the American dream and social stability?

The rich don't care. If they did, the rest of the country wouldn't be struggling

The rich might be cutting their own noses off to spite the own faces! When there is no one left who has good enough credit nor any extra money to purchase the products, where will their profits come from?

When I was growing up, I often heard the saying, "you can't get blood out of a turnip", that saying makes more sense now as millions of people struggle to survive, today!

This is history repeating itself. It seems that we humans have to keep re-learning our lesson! We the people will have it rough for a while, but, we are from pioneer stock and we will survive!

Thanks Walden3, I must run for now, will be back later with more thoughts. A friend of my passed away.
