So Microsoft, Why Can't I Get Windows Vista SP1? »

Windows Vista SP1 is now available, but not everyone can get it. That includes me, at least on my Dell Inspiron M1710. You'll recall that Microsoft isn't going to offer SP1 via Windows Update to anyone who has a "problematic driver." But I couldn't figure out why my M1710 was excluded.

Pretty annoying. Here's an update:
Update: I've been trying to find a upgraded driver for SigmalTel , but so far what I've found in Dell's community forums says that an updated driver will work on a number of systems, but only may work on mine, because it is not listed as supported. I may have to try to contact the Dell Liason in TX I used previously to see if I can get some help on this.
Don't expect to find things easy for Gateway / HP systems either, from what I read ...

Updated driver found. But can you imagine John Q. Public finding it? It wasn't easy.

Lucky you get a driver.
Hope you get your computer run fine on Vista now.
This new OS is very annoying about driver
why MS doesn't let users update SP1 via update center as usual
it's bad thing, that will make us customers turn back to other well-operated like xp or linux and Mac. Poor stupid MS.
Hope you get through all the hard times soon.
