Old "Fogey of War" McCain »
Posted By TechnologyExpert 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsWe already know McCain is too busy campaigning on his "foreign policy experience" to support our troops, but last night on "Real Time with Bill Maher," Maher took McCain to task for not only doing our troops wrong but for also being just like Bush "who is dumb about war."

McCain going overseas for a photo op of his foreign policy strength did the democratic nominee a huge favor. He looked like a fool, and absolutely blew it.
Maher's comments were more truth than comedy. Or maybe the truth is comedy.

I agree Maher is a jerk but so is that dipshit Oreilly.
But it is agreed we need to leave Iraq asap.
No matter who says it.
I just feel bad that folks who have no medical coverage are still signing up to go to Iraq.
That leads one to believe that all things serve the needs of the few at the expense of the many.

Reading the 1959 Lederer book, The Ugly American, should be manditory for anyone in the federal government!
Cheney has experience and look how he still lies about Sadam's WMD and Al Qaeda links! We need integrity restored to the governemt and the fairness Doctrine that Repugs fight would surely be a step in the right direction!
Dems need to also be willing to impeach elected officials who lie and commit US forces to needless wars. Only Repug led congresses have tried to impeach in our history.

Final note: a pres doesn't have to have foreign experience as long as he surrounds himself with good experienced people and actually listens to them before making a critical decision. Remember that Dumya takes his guidance from a higher source... he just needs some one to tell him where Kosovo is! Condi's failure to think a brief titled "OBL Determined to Attack Inside the USA" actually required some followup!

So, after eight years of puerile phantasizing about War and
"protecting America against terrorism", eight years of indiference to our economic strength, and eight years of gnawing at the fundamentals of our Constitution, we are to rejoice in another four years of muddling along the GOP- Gospel of "strength by bullying" and "trickle-down economics" under the adept (!) guidance of an aged "warrior", whose approaching senility is masked by snickering malapropisms and a nervous ocular tic?
Weep for America!

Americans might as well get used to the fact that this country will never not be at war again. McCain obviously has been chosen by those who control the government because he will push the bush agenda of total war and occupation. The question is, where will they go after they conquer the Middle East? I imagine they will wait for McCain to take office before orchestrating another 9/11 to kick off an attack on Iran. Should be a good time. At least I'll be able to say I didn't vote for the dumba$s.

Conquer the Middle East? No way, if you think McCain is any more competent than Bush. Hell, Bush stomped him in his bid for the presidency and he whimpered like a lap dog and licked Bush's a$$.

why we need to vote the RNC for what it is - a terrorist organization in America!

When is that going to start? To me the word "conquer" implies victory.

She sure wasn't a McCain cheerleader a few weeks ago, then he was the "liberal",alien loving anti-christ.She was spouting how she would never vote for McCain because of her concrete conservative principles.

I dont know the crabs age but I would say that in 1 years time, we will all be in deep doo doo.
But as far as her future generations go, if the fed does not bail out the industry, we will see homes fall by 50% all across the board and that will be good. If you still have any money to buy a house after you have lost your job, as many will and are.And if there are still loans at reasonable rates.
It is all a house of cards.
All this was done to fund this war and line the Bush & Co pockets. They have had their 8 years of party time, now lets get the big boys in there to clean up their mess.
the trickle down from this thing is gonna be nasty, so crablegs wont be singing her sassy song for too long.
Her spawn will suffer if they are upper middle class on down. Who isnt hurt by triple the cost of food?

yes the finances of this housing collapse are a nightmare.
I guess to a simple mind and if you have not researched it, well, it may appear to have no bearing in your life.
If there had been a tax instituted for the war and a draft
most of the chicken hawks would have been squawking big time.
As it stand, the piper must be paid.
How dear ones do think it has been being paid?

Maher is hot air. A lot of people have become against all war because it makes them feel intellectually superior and more morally evolved. The "nothings worth fighting for" crowd doesn't have the answer. Huddling in the corner pretending that that there are not groups conspiring against the USA is dangerously ignorant. Hillary and Obama won't get us out if they are elected. It is not that simple. This years election will probably go to the Dems even though they are doing there best to screw up a gimme. Then we will have free health care....yeah right. Last I checked there have been no terrorist attacks in the USA since 9/11. How was taking out Sadam who thumbed his nose at us for 12 years and who harbored terrorists a bad thing? Pacifists will always want to retreat..never lead.

Tessy you obviously have no knowledge of history if you think 9.11 was an attack because of GWB.
Bin Laden has hated America and been planning to attack ever since we were brought in by Saudi Arabia to get rid of those dastardly Iraqis. Bin Laden felt that someone of the Islamic faith, in particular him and his followers, should have been the ones to solve the problem. We came in instead of Bin Laden and that really ******ed him off.

Blue, what part of the seven fold increase in terrorist acts around the world since we invaded Iraq, don't you get? What part of us funding an 80,000 strong Sunni Army in Iraq that hates the Malaki government, don't you get? Did you foget the Anthrax attacks for which the Bush DOJ has failed to find anyone responsible? What a state of Bush sycophancy and denial you are in!

The real world is not Democrat or Republican. We need to stop being emotional and think. I'm telling you Obama or Hillary are not going to get us out of Iraq. It is an emotional chip they use with their voter base. It plays well but it can not be put into practice. Did Johnson get us out of Nam? No. It isn't a simple solution. Blame Bush if you want but he isn't a candidate. The second attact on the World Trade center was on Bush's watch the first was on Clinton. Just to be clear, tessylo. And what difference does it make? Zippo! So go fill up your car with Ethanol and worry about Global Warming. The adults will protect you so you'll be free to spout bumper sticker philosophy.

abntv, I'm not sure what you said that upset tessylo but logic with people that are all emotion gets them angry. I'll just say this as far as Donkeys and Elephants go. Which statement below is logical?
Republicans don't trust government and want less of it.
Democrats don't trust government and want more of it.

Wow tessylo, you are way more angry than necessary. If you want to talk about retreat and free healthcare(with the efficiency of the DMV) then let's discuss policy. I am not a McCain supporter but Maher's rhetoric is filled with prejudice and bile. There are things that could have been done better in the past on both sides but the question is what now? Retreat as much it might make you feel safe for the moment what is the consequence of it long term? GWB is not the enemy. ..................wait a minute..........perhaps you think he is.........
I believe the USA is the most generous, compasionate on the planet. What part of Sadam did you like besides the gassing of his own people, mass burial and rape rooms?

You know...I'm getting really sick of your "retreat" BS.Have you ever served your country in the military?
If you did,you would know that there is no such thing as "retreat"...it's called "advance to the rear".
And if you think that anyone who opposes the Iraq war is a "surrender monkey" and at the same time say you support veterans....then why do you try to insult them?I'm no surrender monkey and if you have never served yet you are in favor of sending other peoples kids into an illegal war, then I call you a chickenhawk...same as your heroes.

Blue, now you see a major difference between dems and repugs! Repugs just think its all opinions... whereas Dems know there are life impacting events at stake... and the Dems reflect this in their emotional opinions! What do you have a stake? I'll bet no one close to you is in Iraq fighting!
How about the Dumya DOJ doing nothing about that American gal that was gang raped in the green zone by KBR employees!

What part of Bush do you like besides sending his own people to die for oil and corporate profits, mass killings of innocent Iraquis and illegal torture?
