McCain's Role in Plane Pact Spotlights Ties to Lobbyists
By Michael D. Shear and Matthew Mosk
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, March 12, 2008
To show that he's a crusader against wasteful spending and congressional corruption, Sen. John McCain repeatedly brags about his leading role in stopping a scandal-plagued air tanker contract between the Air Force and Boeing in 2004
Four years later, a $35 billion contract has been awarded to Europe's Airbus consortium to build the latest generation of tanker planes. The decision has sparked anger from Boeing's congressional supporters and critics of outsourcing. It has also focused attention on McCain's reliance on lobbyists in his campaign for president because his finance chairman and several other top advisers lobbied for Airbus last year when it was in fierce competition with Boeing for the Air Force contract.

This is why Obama is my man, if we let him stay in the congress much longer he will be touch by the special interest, as it is he is not and that is good for our country...his policies will not be dictated to him by big corporation, cant say the same for Hill and McCain. This is why Bill Clinton was a good president for this country because he was untouched by this filth.

The liberal media is a myth. Otherwise you'd sure as hell be seeing a lot more coverage of the carnage in Tibet. Among other things. Take a look at the spectrum of far left and far right news and "news" and you'll see the media falls slightly to the right. Not the left.

HA! Is that why I can't find ANY stories, ANYWHERE, about Detroit's (Democrat, of course) "pimp-hop" mayor being brought up on federal charges? Why is this story being buried? Here's a KNOWN CRIMINAL running a major U.S. city, brought up on corruption, misconduct and perjury charges, and you don't see a story of it on ANY of the major "news" outlets. Why? Because he's black and Democrat. What's the media afraid of? Take a guess....

sainte...you just have to expand your reading and viewing of other news sources, that's all.
The story on Kilpatrick has been on CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and I'm sure even Fox has had it on, altho I have to admit I rarely watch Fox during the day...I'll see tonight with Bill O'Really and Shawn Hannity...

In fact, here's an article from Truthout.org on the mayor being brought up on charges. I've seen you disparage Truthout.org before as a Liberal-lie-spreading news source. I guess you were wrong. As always.

"Wasn't his girlfriend a telecom lobbyist?"
No. His "girlfriend" was a story cooked-up by the "venerable" New York Times, who was lucky they didn't get sued by one of the party's for defamation of character. They retracted the story in embarrassment. I guess you didn't get the memo.

Anyway my point was that Obama doesn't have any of these people in hip pocket and his girlfriend didn't have any influence on the Clinton administration Heavens knows the right investigated that up and down and came up with nothing so hush!

while i would put re regulation of media high on the list NOTHING is more important to reviving our democracy than paper ballots and open access to recounts...after all thats the only way "we the people" can vote the bums out
of course its unlikely we will get paper ballots back because the media works against it...they ignore improbable or even impossible results so the average american doesnt even know there is a prob
check out blackboxvoting.org for more details on what really happened in new hampshire

All three the major candidates are receiving special interest money in one for or another. And the corporate media backs all of them. If any of them were truly outside of corporate interest, do you think that they would have received the media coverage they did.

We have been through eight years of Bush. The results speak for themselves. Do you really want four more years of Bush/Cheney? McCain agrees with this administration, and has supported them, lock step. 100 more years in Iraq, a war with Iran, unchecked spending, trashing the Constitution? If you truly want this, Songbird McCain is your man.

and where is Libscape on Hillary's ties to the Chinese or Obama's connection to the American hating church. Oh no McCain to lobbyist money wow, they all take money to forward the agenda of those with deep pockets. It is the form of government we have created in this country and if you think Obama or the one who's name we do not speak will change any of this your drinking again. It will take a revolution and right now they are trying to take away our 2nd amendment which will make sure we have no power as free people.

In February, more than 94% of Obama donors gave in amounts of $200 or less (read: donations from normal Americans).
Meanwhile, donations of $200 or less make up just 13% of McCain's total campaign funds and only 26% of Hillary's.
so, its very clear who the people want in the white house.

Anyone else notice this? If a Republican does something questionable the cons say, "Well, it's no big thing because both sides do it." If a Democrat does something questionable they say, "Oh look, the Dems or corrupt and are destroying the country.
Yes, I am saying that several posters are behaving in a hypocritical manner.

Is John McCain a crook? You bet he is! Just like Obama & Clinton. They are all crooks. If the politician of today is honest they can't get elected. As for McCain being influenced by a lobbyist if that's true we must also look at Obama's pastors influence & Clinton's pardons like Mark Rich = money. Hillary is a chip off the old block or maybe it was Bill that was the chip. You can bet they all are dirty both Dems. & Reps.

This always gets me with the GOPers. "Is John McCain a crook? You bet he is! Just like Obama & Clinton." They play the inclusion game it's passive aggressive, instead of calling McCain a crook they call them all crooks. According to this article only McCain is a crook! The others are just suspected by you and that and $10 will get you in to see a movie.

Blackace, According to an article you are ready to convict. Step back for a moment. Just say you are a Progressive (progressing toward socialism) and leave us GOPers to defend your passive butt while agressively fighting terrorism. Is that what you meant by passive aggressive?

Fighting terrorism, Where? Not in Iraq...the last I heard BL was in the hills of Afganastan, oil is in the ground of Iraq! They are not fighting for me they are fighting me for my money so they can full their pockets. Calling me a socialist doesn't make me one but if by doing so you mean I am for taking care of the American people then call a way buddy. You on the right act if the Taxes we pay our government is for their own use, I got news for you the answer is NO, it's for the people, well it is supposed to be for the people to make sure they get Jobs and to sustain a proper economy so as to afford them the American dream. So yea In that sense I am a Socialist. I think the American people deserves to have their money work for them not India and the bushes.

Blackace, Is BL the only terrorist in all the Middle East?
You wrote: Taxes are collected to make sure people get jobs and to afford them the American Dream??? You are kidding, right? Governments job is to let the free market breathe. Government does not create jobs outside of government employees. The free market will create jobs if we let it.
Reagan said the Dems economic philosophy is:
If it moves tax it.
If it keeps moving regulate it
If it stops moving subsidize it.
Government is the problem, not the solution.
