HA hahahah this is soooo funny. Do you know that prison stocks were at $37.00 a share. They have a lot of people in prison that shouldn't be there. This is another GOP idea that has gone to the dogs. The tree strikes were designed to turn the prison business into a cash cow, it was these scumbags way of bilking the tax payers going and coming and now it blows up in their faces. I saw this special on TX where a judge sent a kid to jail for life for Jay walking. It was not about keeping people safe it was about making their pockets fatter now that they are not making money they are releasing these guys back on the streets where they will have no other choice but to commit crimes since they cant get a job. I am not a proponent of criminals, however they brought this on themselves with their greed and on us at the same time!

      When it comes to Reagan's legacy in drug policy â;; the drug war, of which he played a major though not lone role in escalating to an unprecedented level â;; even staunch Reagan enthusiasts are less likely to brag about it than other issues he impacted. Though polling has found that 3/4 of Americans support the drug war, polls also show that 3/4 of Americans consider the drug war to be a failure.

      Though some may try to remember him as "the great communicator" or the "vanquisher of communism," Reagan should also be remembered for turning Nixon's drug war rhetoric into an actual war, complete with military involvement against the American people.

    libsRfunny - Oh you have lost your little mind, This was part of the neut gingridge contract with America BS. Not a DEM congress, why do you do this? You just lie for no reason knowing that we all know better. I am telling you get some help. The war on drugs was started by Ronnie remember Nancy just say no to drugs. The prison business in Cali and TX were done under republican Gov. I remember at one point Cali were spending more on prisons building than on education. It was a republican congress that allowed the states to trade the prison system on wall street! I could go on and on but i doubt that is going to do you any good you want to lay in the lies of the right it fuels your need to think your warp thinking is reality!

        Ace, libsRfunny has difficulty interpreting facts. Everyone knows that Reagan, and Nixon who really started spending billions on the War on Drugs, were Democrats. That proves his point so quit trying to change his mind or confuse him with truth.
        But he does have a point. Decriminalizing Marijuana and regulating and taxing it like cigarettes and booze would solve lots of problems. But, that would be a tax increase and you know how Repukes feel about tax increases. Borrowing 10 trillion from our kids and grandkids is OK. Borrow and spend is OK. But actually fund their huge increase in Federal bureaucracy or pay for their Iraq war? Hell no!
        Difficult for a sane, normal, honest person to comprehend Neocon fact twisting, dishonesty, and hypocrisy.
        They still can't admit that George Bush is a liar.

    I contacted the DEA about a "legal" marijuana farm, Washingto State made medical marijuana legal. As of today based on that documentary Reefer Madness, marijuana is more dangerous than heroin or cocaine and is a class 1 drug... heroin and alcohol are class 2

      One of my most prized possessions (and quite rare) is a videotape of the "documentary?" - "Reefer Madness." I got it from a Wherehouse Video store when it went out of business for 50 cents.
      It is hilarious.
      Oh, that Devil Weed. Makes you want to rape and kill!
      For anybody (except a cretin like Bush) to establish any kind of policy using it as a source or a justification would be idiotic.
      I urge anyone who hasn't seen it to do so. Hard to find, however.
