I was trying to figure out if this is a scary time to graduate (I still have a year left, but I know quite a few friends that are graduating.) But perhaps it's not a bad time since if businesses do need to hire they might look for those with a bit less experience simply because they can pay them a lower salary...maybe. Maybe I'm just being optimistic.

I'm surprised that America still had 80,000 jobs, unless they're counting the lawn mowing jobs the illegals had.
Did you know that the Bush administration gives tax incentives for out sourcing... all of you that voted for Bush... I will not lose sleep if you lose your job and house. Any one with a brain could see this coming before he ran for re-election.

I am 12 years out of college. But 6 moth prior graduate start job searches. Don't wait.
The longer you are w/o job than harder it is to find one. Six or so month on your first job - perfect time to switch to better salary. Don't feel bad about leaving one. Look for No 1. Companies have crooked managers and incompetent executives to look for own interests.
Unless something is done about crooked republican myth of "free trade", economy will just keep getting worth. Any job can be offshored outsourced replaced by monkey.

Keep in mind all the unemployed not even counted -- those who've already either given up after years of searching or who have been removed from the list because they've been on it so long.
Keep in mind the hundreds of thousands of soldiers and employed Americans in Iraq who have to return at some point (God willing) from this insane war. Who will return to no work, few jobs, fewer opportunities and starvation. Not to mention poor coverage from the VA thanks to BushCo.
The US is deeper in the hole than most believe or will even consider.

Time for some more drastic tax cuts for the ultra-rich. Lets borrow another 2 - 3 trillion on the national debt, cut the fat cat and corporate taxes even lower and get that Republican, Neocon trickle down process working.
War in Iran would help, too. Stimulate the economy. Borrow more and spend for that, too.
George and Dickie and their pals are billionaires for life. With a year left, they still have more $$$ to milk the nation for.
Big Oil has asked for 18 billion in incentives for next year. They're hurtin'. Lets just make it 100 billion to tide them over until oil prices are $200/barrel, gas is $10/gallon and they can make a decent profit.
Mission accomplished.

Any company that has its product made in china, should be boycotted here..
If we are not good enough to make it--we should not buy it..
Our politicians represent mexico better than they do americans...
