"While I can understand why republicans would like to add a black female to the ticket this year, I don't think she would allow herself to be used that way. As a woman, a person of color, and a highly successful person I would hope she has more self respect than that."

Successful in what failed respect? To ignore a brief titled "OBL determined to attack inside the USA".... to advise war in Iraq and to lie about those overseas prisons... and to let down with her support to the surge! She is failing the Israel-Palestinian talks too! What an utterly failed advisor! She should be rotting in a jail, guilty of crimes gainst humanity!

I gave you a pos. vote because I liked the way you stated: "a highly successful person I would hope she has more self respect than that."
the words sounded great...but the reality sucks.

As a Democrat I hope that McCain DOES choose Rice as a VP. Since no matter how much McCain says he's NOT running for a Bush 3rd term everything he does contradicts that assertion. Having the 2nd most influential person in the Bush Administration as a running will simply seal the deal.

How can you libs think you're soooo smart yet miss some very important things. This wouldn't be a third term for Bush. McCain and Bush really hate each other. Have you missed the last 8 years or so. When the camera is on, they play nice. When it's off, so are the gloves. Perhaps the media doesn't want this made known in order to help Barack or Hillary, I don't know what the media is thinking sometimes.
As to the most influential person, you again don't know McCain. He's his own person and rarely listens, especially to guys like Bush 43.
Rice would be my choice. She follows the policies of the President, as anyone working in the cabinet should do. As to a report on Bin Laden, that report also lead to the suggested spying on cell phone calls from the USA to suspected foreign based terrorists without warrants. That's the one my senator Foolsgold talks of ending.
I've met Condi, heard her talk and she's brilliant. I would rather see her as President.

What has she done right? Nothing, and that is the only and best reason that Republicans need to give her a promotion.
Reply-

If you can't look at her record and see what an amazing woman she truly is, you're either slow witted & hate a smart woman or are as racist and sexist as the who shave their heads and wear the white ropes. Then again, the DNC was the party of the Klan for over 100 years.
Spend time reading her papers, listen to her speak, see the things she and her family lived through. It's shocking someone with her skills and intellect would waste time working for the government. As a people, we're lucky to have her on our side.

"Don't we have a choice to end this spectacle? "
I will not be voting for any one of the 3 musketeers...no matter who they choose as their running mates. (they're all the same...and no one seems to understand this)
I will be voting for Dr. Ron Paul no matter what. He is the only deserving candidate...I liked Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel as well. they spoke about real issues. (not media mongering like clinton, obama and mccain.)

A choice? Bush 3.0 or Bush 3.1? I could go with Clinton 2.0, but she's unlikely to be a choice come November. Sure am glad Nader's back....

Tess, do you really want to have this talk? I was one who sent truck loads of stuff down there. Are you one of those people who thinks government should do everything for you? The city was told to evacuate but the mayor and gov never gave the order. The mayor lost 200 buses that could have evacuated people but he was in Houston with his family and not doing his job.
As to the president, Mrs. Bush or any other politician. I'm former military. I remember emergencies and how helpful politicians are. Rather than having police and secret service protecting the politicians I would have rather had extra hands helping clean up.
However, I do stand on the simple thought, what rebuild in that crap hole. We've spend billions to build in the same damn place. That's stupid.

Again, Tissuelo, it is not George Bush's job, nor Condoleezza Rice's job, nor Laura Bush's job, nor even FEMA director Mike Brown's job to mobilize the people and help them get out of harm's way prior to Katrina's landfall.
THAT job fell squarely on Ray Nagin and the New Orleans' police force, as well as governor Kathleen Blanco. You will recall that they failed MONUMENTALLY. Buses, police evacuations and shelter arrangements were all too little too late. Those things are organized by LOCAL and STATE government, NOT the federal government, and CERTAINLY not FEMA. FEMA is responsible for response and recovery. LOCAL GOVERNMENT is responsible for preparedness and evacuations, and on that front, they failed miserably.
So I don't give a toss what George, Laura, Condi or Mike Brown were doing before Katrina hit. They were all staying out of the way and allowing local authorities to do their jobs, which they DIDN'T.

Again, when it comes to attacked anyone from the GOP you cut & paste where you feel but when we ask about Obama and his racist religion, you say we don't need to worry about it.
Condi was presented with a report from the CIA. An agency rife with Democrats. Rather than name calling or attacking either party, I think you should be asking why has the CIA been permitted to be the Agency of screw ups for the last 30 years. Since Carter's time in the White House the CIA has missed important world events. The kidnapping and murder of our ambassador Feb 14,1979. The fall of the Shah. The seizure of the embassy in Tehran. The invasion of Afghanistan by the USSR, the Iran-Iraq war, Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. The fall of the USSR. The CIA failed to report all of them. Forget about attacking Bush, Rice or McCain, let's talk about the CIA and failures.

The other talking point I like is that Obama is where he is because he's black i.e. his skin color benefits him. Think Rice's skin color matters?
One other thing how come skin color never mattered as long as only white men could get elected? Now that some black guy may have a chance and commentators and talk show hosts see his skin color as an unfair advantage (90% of blacks vote for Obama) all of a sudden it's unfair for skin color to matter.

Well I hope it is Condi to be VP. She has my vote guaranteed. It'll just be another thing the democrats haven't been able to do while the Republicans promote equality nicely. No democratic prez has ever had a black male as Secretary of State and black female as National Security Adviser. Now to have a black female as Secretary of State & VP. Sensational! I love it. All Clinton ever did was put black people in charge of some obscure cabinet post that I've never heard of. Go Condi Go!

Commodore,
If I read you correctly, I think you're trying to say what I've said before. We're far to hung up on first names. German American, French American, African American, White American, Asian American, or whatever. What matters is the American part. Again, I'm a huge fan of Dr. Rice. I've met her and like her very much.
The very people screaming equality are the ones who continually insist on reminding us Condi is black and so is Barack. Big deal. As a society, I really think we're past that. I'd like to see the best person qualified for the job getting the job. When I've had to defend my point, I ask the simple question, if your mom needed quadruple bypass, who would you want working on her? The best surgeon available or someone who got the job because of race, color or creed? I've never gotten a straight answer.
Condi would be a great Vice President and an even better President. I hope she can work things out with John.

Sometimes when someone calls you stupid or ignorant it's better to remain silent then speak and prove them correct. Before you insult Dr. Rice, you should actually read her full resume. I've presented two sites already but I suspect even with your dial up connection in your mommy's basement, you could Google her name and see she's certainly smarter than anyone in the presidential race currently.
Oh, my bad. I used words with more than one syllable.

Simply shows that the GOP is down to lying, corrupt, incompetents that arewilling to destroy american democracy to support big business, military imperialism and zionism. Have a look at what a member of the Reagan administration says about Rice and the current state ofthe GOP.
What Do We Stand For?
Americans traditionally thought of their country as a "city upon a hill," a "light unto the world." Today only the deluded think that. Polls show that the rest of the world regards the U.S. and Israel as the two greatest threats to peace....
... Do we Americans have any honor, any humanity, any integrity, any awareness of the crimes our government is committing in our name? Do we have a moral conscience?
Reply-

hyperbola1 year, 2 months ago
How can a moral conscience be reconciled with our tolerating a government which has invaded two countries on the basis of lies and deception, destroyed their civilian infrastructures and murdered hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children?...
... If Americans have any honor, how can they betray their Founding Fathers, who gave them liberty, by tolerating a government that claims immunity to law and the Constitution and is erecting a police state in their midst?..
... Without the impeachment of Bush and Cheney, America can never recover. The precedents for unaccountable government established by the Bush administration are too great, their damage too lasting. Without impeachment, America will continue to sink into dictatorship in which criticism of the government and appeals to the Constitution are criminalized. We are closer to executive rule than many people know....

Absolutely! Why should inexperience and incompetence be restricted to the top of the ticket? Another possibility: McCain could entice Gonzales to run as his VP. He has a Harvard law degree, so he could help offset Obama's.

So i guess the reward for shopping while Katrina destroys New Orleans and the government did nothing about it is VP?
Besides all her lying, stone walling, rhetoric and "i will follow Bush to the ends of the earth" mentality, what has she accomplished? NOTHING.
Condi should off herself for the lies she told.

First Condi did not cause the floods in NO. That was years of corruption in NO. "Send buses now!!!" Nagen demanded. Why didn't he use his own buses. They didn't flood out until the lake overflowed. Oh, that's right he was too busy hiding in Houston with his family to pay any attention to his city. How about the Gov. Oh, that's right she held back letting the US Army move in. I think it was for her photo ops. How about police and fire, oh, my bad. when they weren't looting or taking guns away from the law abiding they were running away. The whole system failed down there because of the lack of leadership. A corrupt system failed a corrupt local government.
As to your other comments, again, didn't any of you not smoke pot during civics class when you were supposed to learn what the cabinet was supposed to do? She represents the president just like a lawyer represents a client. Saying only what the client wants. Did I go to fast for you or do you understand?

Condi is a partisan tool. She hasnt accomplished anything in the middle east, forget about what she did and didnt do during 9/11 and the start of the iraq war and her shopping during Katrina is priceless.
And she doesnt represent most black people. She speaks russian and is conservative. she is whiter than me.

Katrina? 9-11? Middle East? Well let's start. Katrina, she went shopping. Did she get one of those $2000 shopping cards like the folks in New Orleans got? She's the Secretary of State, nothing to do with Homeland, unless you're admitting New Orleans shouldn't be part of the USA any more, then I'd agree. Anyone stupid enough to live in a city that's 2 stories below sea level while next to the ocean perhaps justifies the Darwin theory and void citizenship.
As to Iraq, fix the CIA and we can talk. 9-11, most of the terrorists were in flight school when she came in office. Unless you're giving the NSA new spy powers you might want to rethink your ignorance.
As to being a tool, lets pretend Barack is white. Do you really think he would be running much less the leader for the DNC nomination? If you really believe that, I'd call 911 and tell them you've taken an overdose. He wouldn't even be a senator.

It is never smart to personally attack and then try to make a point. It is almost a mob mentality that reaches a fevered pitch. So say it as if you weren't so insecure with it and we will try to understand. Walking into a room yelling and breaking all the toys will always get you noticed, but it will never get you listened to. I will stand back now while you turn blue in the face trying to muster up you keyboard courage to rip me to shreds.
