CBS News was once the standard by which all others are judged. Unfortunately, a series of corporate decisions taken over three decades, coupled with the establishment of a cult of personality under the "leadership" of Dan Rather, led to the erosion of public confidence and viewership.
Now CBS has attempted to resurrect a cult of personality around Katie Couric, who is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a newsperson. Plummeting ratings have caused loss of ad revenues, and the network simply cannot afford to compete with NBC and ABC in newsgathering and reporting. If they can get content from CNN, they will survive, but the move will do nothing to return them to their former preeminence in news broadcasting.

this would be a great fit, now the left could go to one channel for the news that they want and the right can go to fox. CBS and CNN are so far in the tank for liberals it is tough to watch. beside Larry King has been phoning it in for yrs, go Kati you are so much more objective.
