First ... alakai, who is 'boy wonder'? Not a wise choice of words. Russians were not run out of Afganistan ... they were going broke trying to sustain the war. Is this not what is happening to U.S.? Nations are defeated on a battlefield or slaughtered in the treasury. We have done nothing to win the 'war' on either platform. We cannot sustain further financing of this Republican debacle.

All who testified over the past five-plus years agree that a POLITICAL solution is the ESSENTAL component to a graceful end to the Iraq debacle.
Why, then do so many focus on Petreus rather than than Crocker?
Perhaps it is becuse Crocker had on a blah suit, had nothing to say, and said that nothing as inarticultely as possible. Petreus, on the other hand had on a fancy coat festooned with medals, had something to report and did so articulately.
Perhaps it is time to dump Crocker and replace him with somebody competent. somebody that can give a clear messare to the Iraqi leaders that the U.S.-provided dollar-fest is going to soon end and that the Iraqis REALLY DO need to get their act together.
Perhaps it is also time for the Congress to give the Iraqi leadership a clear sign that the train of U.S. dollars that they have been wallowing in for five years will soon be OVER.
Until that message is delivered to the Iraq leadership NOTHING will happen.
