If you knew anything about Alzheimers, you would know it is progressive, beginning with small memory lapses, small delusions ( and Reagan was already old); long before the diagnosis is on the doctors desk.
It is the reason that by the end of his presidency he could no longer answer basic questions like 'who is the secretary of state' or 'what was that meeting about'.
I don't mock him for having it.

Reagan could memorize speeches and deliver them, better than anyone; remember he was an actor for decades before politics.
Wickepedia:
"former president disclosed in 1994 that he was afflicted with the degenerative brain disease."
He was president from 1981 to 1988; like I said, it is a progressive degeneration that begins years before being diagnosed.
