    Yes indeed I'm proud of her. My son too who is in high school. They grew up in a house where books, art, and music flowed freely and were (and are) held in high esteem. Once they were teens, I generally allowed them freedom to make their own choices if they could explain why their choice was a good one.

    This has worked well, as they have the tools to make good decisions now. I wonder if they would have developed this ability if I made their decisions for them, or worse yet, some government agency. Basically they earned freedom by demonstrating good judgment. Only once have I had occasion to take a freedom away temporarily as an incentive. (I think that worked remarkably well.)

    We are in agreement about censorship, the point of mentioning the banned literature was that these books have not harmed anyone. The fears were and are unjustified.
