I've wondered about that, Spade. This is one of your finest compilations, perfectly selected images to compliment the song. Excellent work, but are those your own "re-paintings" of famous masters (old and new)such as Manet, Holbein, Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Picasso, Rockwell, `etc., or do you computerize the originals to make a "Spadecaller" version?
Whatever you do, it's very fine work. Thank you.

Great vid, Spade! Loved the great "reach" of imagery (wasn't there even a Hopper fragment in there, near the beginning?)
But don't get me started on Mr. Dylan, to me (but not to many others, I realize) a serious poseur. I think you punctured his pretentiousness nicely.
Again, great (and obviously hard) work!

Too loose, too loose...that's what Jeff Gordon was saying to his pit crew captain. LOL
Interesting collage of artwork, SC. You have a mind teasing presentation that seems to keep well with the message of the song.
I don't know much about Dylan, but I was surprised at the dichotomy of either serving the devil or the Lord. Of course, I chose the latter. -Rev. S

Great take on an interesting Dylan song. Again, loved how the art worked with the song to underline the nature of the message being presented.
I believe this song was done during Dylan's religious period which really sorta shocked some of my friends but to me he was ahead of the curve on exploiting a growing grass roots Christian movement amongst the young hippies of the day. Yet Dylan was and still is good at profiting off of the socially and politically obvious.
The message is simple and to the point; no matter how great or insignificant you are in the eye's of society everyone will have to spiritually serve somebody. In this case either the Devil or the Lord. Yet through an extended metaphor, good or evil. (...'precious my precious.' Sweet!)
To me the point of the song is in 'you will do one 'or' the other not one 'and' the other'.
You can't have it both ways; you can only have it one way; 'It could be the Devil or it could be the Lord; but you Gotta Serve Somebody.'
True.

It's sort of gotten late in the day but I finaly managed to get some time to watch the video. While listening to the video and watching the pictures it made me just stop and wonder who I do serve. I chose to raise cattle for the simple reason that great things would not be expected of me, even though there is not much money in what I do for a living I do get the satisfaction of serving mankind by producing something that most can use. I know at times the food I produce will feed armies that kill but also it will feed the needy and the people who make the world a better place, after the really long tough day that I had today this was welcome, brought things back into perspective.
Spadecaller as most have said before me here this was excellent, I enjoyed it all especially the message.
