Considering the ad which is going to run in NC, these headlines couldn't have come at a worse time for Obama

It is by Floyd Brown, author of the famous (or infamous depending on your perspective) Willie Horton ad used so effectively against Michael Dukakis

"what some community leaders say is a deadly breakdown in discipline among gang members after a crackdown over the past few years put many of their leaders behind bars."

So they are blaming the police for arresting gang leaders for the potential 'bloody summer'. How can they have crime there, doesn't Chicago have strict 'gun control' laws. Are people now saying that criminal gang memebers won't obey the gun laws? Amazing... LOL

A couple of points: I live near Chicago. I wouldn't go there on a bet. Well, some areas, anyway - Chicago is a BIG place. Just this morning I heard a country Sheriff lamenting the difficulties of enforcement in some of these areas - because the DAs wouldn't prosecute to the max. (Prisons are overcrowded, budgets are restricted) YES - Illinois has strict gun laws, and in the city of Chicago, you are not even ALLOWED to own a handgun. (Unconstitutional, I know.. I know) So, to those who think MORE gun control law is the answer I say: You are an idiot. Sorry, but you are. The other point is a reference to a story we saw on here a couple of weeks ago about the astronomical drop out rates in the cities. Knucklehead kids have NO education, NO prospects, NO hope of a decent life - so what do they do? Join a gang, become criminals, get some (ILLEGAL) guns, and shoot up other gang members to protect their "turf."
