This is the second part of the story that I submitted yesterday.
When you click on the "view story" go to the bottom and you can hear the radio interview Kristi did. This started the whole process for me.
Not sure of the date next week, but Good Morning America will be airing a part of this. So that is where the national media attention is starting.

Wow!
I have thought of little else but this story since i read it on your thread last night CM.
I have formed some opinions, just off the top of my head, and i am probably wrong, BUT...
The men were all intoxicated, taking away inhabititions, no evidence of struggles, no attention drawn to them being taken away etc and all very good looking athletic young men. The crime scenes have smiley faces, that get more graphic in nature.
I think it's a pod of women! I don't think a man would go willingly with other men, but he would with women, and i don't think men would leave smiley faces, but women would.
I MUST follow this til the end! I have become obsessed with it! lol..
Thanks for the update CM

You're welcome n2n.
I listened to the entire radio interview that Kristi did with the KQRS morning show. When Chris Jenkins first went missing, his parents were told by an investigator that he was probably out with a hooker and would be back after 48 hours.
It also got me thinking too. I looked on KSTP's site a little furter and clicked on the interview that Kristi and lead anchor Jason did together. Jason said something interesting. "What if all of the victims had been white college age females? How would the investigations be different and how would we the media be different? That is a part of the legacy of this."
We do treat our boys different. I and my friends growing up (all of us female. Never asked my friends who were male.) were told constantly you arrive in a group, you leave as a group. Especially if there has been drinking involved and if you don't feel safe call home.

UPDATE on Good Morning America:
They will be doing something on this on Monday morning 4/28/08. After that there will be a press conference. And furter there is something even more national but Kristi promised not to tell.
She mentioned in the KQRS interview that the two NYPD detectives found eye witnesses to some of the murders and know where some of the pods are, and who some of the killers are. She wasn't told that informtion.
Also the most recent victim is the most brutal so far.
Something needs to be done to protect our boys as well. Men can be victims, just as easily as girls, of serial killers, etc. I'm sick of this double standard. Believe me my son is fast approaching college age so I will be looking at how I talk with him about safety, going out with friends, etc.

I listened to the complete interview on the site you provided. Very interesting, and i understand the concern about keeping this on the QT, however... I think they are probably fairly secure in the information they have, and are getting close to making an arrest soon, otherwise they wouldn't be going public with this. Maybe this is my fondest wish, but in my mind it makes sense.
I have a son too CM, over the age limit for this but i understand, and agree, it cuts both ways. Our boys need to be protected and are due the same attention as the girls.

Well, it sounds like serial killer(s) on the loose. I think you're right that this would have received more attention had the victims been female. However, whoever killer(s) are targeting, they need to be stopped. Every day that goes by gives them more opportunities to kill again. And no one should die for the sick fantasies of another human being. Get the SOB(s) and get them off the street.
