It's true they are working on climate change effect.

They've been researching the effects of pumping 2 GW (2 billion watts) of HF into the ionosphere. Super heating areas of the ionosphere can effect the weather. Some people think the global warming chatter is just a cover for experiments with the weather. No wonder the last 4-5 years things have been getting worse.

Let's be honest here. The Military, especially the Air Force, doesn't care a whit about greener fuels or greener planes.

What they want is a securable fuel source once Oil is either no longer available or is only available through secured sources in the US or through allies.

They'll spin it as 'green,' but it's not wicked-hard intelligence to figure out their real reasons and fears.

So the USAF will begin buying Al Gore's carbon credits?

I had a BEMUSED first response - had to re-check that it wasn't the 1st April..

I guess what they do have going for them is that no one is going to cut off their funding!

Perhaps the instigators should think about a little extra personal security, however.

          Good find neo!

It is indicative of the increasing militarization of America at all levels that the USAF says such things - especially since the Pentagon is one of the biggest polluters on eath.

"to encourage governments and companies to release "billions of dollars" of funds" - I think this pretty well answers the question of "why is the Air Force involved" doesn't it? Might be a good idea to hold off a couple of years to see if the normal sunspot cycle resumes. If not, we may need to quickly figure out a way to do MORE global warming, not less.

Maybe when the Air Force comes to the meeting, they will elaborate on what the hell it is they are spraying all over the sky in those huge chemtrails I see all the time. Could that be having an effect?

Does Bush know about this and will he allow them to continue? I applaud their proactive stance and willingness to do something but I am still suspicious about their motives and committment. Especially when they're interested in synthetic fuel from COAL. We'll see how this plays out.

Why not just give this chunk of money that the Air force has to spend on this project to the National Science Foundation?

Let the Air Force work on projects closer to their mission such as:

                  ---Environmentally friendly nuclear weapons

                  ---Environmentally friendly naplam

                  ---Environmentally friendly agent orange
