That is sending chills all over me! No one really, truely knows what our soldiers go through, during a war, except our soldiers! I can't imagine what it would be like to be over there fighting a war!

Thanks libs, for the headsup on this posting!

Thanks cmetzger for posting this recording!

there was a documentary I saw on History International Sunday night

"Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company"

Featuring candid interviews and never-before-seen video, we tell the story of the hardest hit combat unit of the Iraq war. Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, a reserve unit out of Columbus, Ohio was deployed to Iraq from February 28-September 30, 2005. This two-hour documentary captures significant moments from their tour of duty, including dramatic combat missions.

I hope his family has recovered, I don't know if my heart could have taken it. My family and I are so thankful for these fine young men, heroes everyone, who defend us and our country.

Btw, I didn't really hear the panic, did you?

      Thanks for sending this libs.

It was a good thing he was OK. It would have been devastating if he was killed.

Here's a thought for EVERONE.. who wants to support the troops...

I have collection boxes at 3 bars that I "hang out" in ... we collect items and ship them to the troops.. post offices sends the packages for "I believe" around 8-9 dollars...

              items they WANT AN NEED....

Tampax - Kotex - Superglue--- used for wounds.....

Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, OREO COOKIES.. Hickory Farms gift packs they love the sausages, hard candy, deodorant and soap non scented, disposable razors, phone cards,

after collecting large boxes around once a month, we package them... run a couple of 50/50 jars to get the postage -- I'd like to add that NO ONE HAS EVER TAKEN HIS 50% of the winnings..

just 3 small local bars.. we've sent over 150 packages to date.. and we'll get around 10 or so more in a couple of weeks....

put a little note in the box addressed to no one in particular and tell them how much you appreciate their sacrifice...

you can also do this at work ..

I only started and participate in this one.. but other in the area that my group as spawned have sent over 250 boxes of items..

the most requested.. as one of the barmaids son's is in Iraq.. was in Afganistan

are the HICKORY FARMS PACKAGES.. and they need to be wrapped very good... because the post office won't send perishables...if they find them..

You could pack the Hickory Farms Packages in old coffee grounds. Thats how the drug dealers do it :)

actually foil is good enough.. that is another item that they like coffee..

they send us back pictures... and thank you notes.. .. very gratifying... the bars also help out.. bring an item.. get a couple games of pool or darts free or a large draft beer.. plus they donate the space...

one of the collection boxes was so full the bottom gave way when we went to take it where we pack it all up to send..
