Wolfie, the repubs are scared of Obama, which is exactly why Rush has been trying to get repubs to register/vote as dems for the primary and get Hillary nominated so McCain would stand a better chance in the general. Where have you been? Maybe you need to clean your ears, wake up occasionally or dig your head out of the sand. You're as out of touch as McCain.

Are you comfortable with the way things are right now?
Frankly, if i thought i would have to spend another 4 years with the way things are right now, i may sell out and move to Canada or South America.
Nothing, and i mean nothing can be any worse than putting up with a man who conspired with his brother to steal the Fla delegates in 2000, and subsequently have himself "appointed" president, only to take us down the toilet. After this fiasco, nothing any politician does scares me, we've been through the worst.

NTN you said-
Are you comfortable with the way things are right now?
If that is in response to my comment about being scared of Obama - you must be blind-
Did you ever see me post anything that was in the least bit supportive of Bush? Don't think so.
As I have stated many times I support Hilary & would sleep much better knowing she was there for that overworked phonecall

ace,
Well, all I can say is that I wish you would give the populist a chance before dissing him.
His heart and mind are in the right place, and if elected, it will come down to his leadership skills. We know/believe Hillary can get things down, but the doubt with her comes in not knowing if her heart and mind are in the right place. She voted for the war, attacked Obama over total BS non-issues, and now is caving in to reward the oil companies with a summer-time gouge handout. At the same time, she is doing the right thing in pushing for a windfall profits tax. Her positions are all over.
Same with healthcare. Thats not universal healthcare, thats univeral insurance, which will be a boon to the insurance companies but wont do a thing to reel in costs. Insurance companies add roughly 25% more onto the costs of medical care over medicare.
Hillary is ok, but Obama is great!

On the contrary, Barack Obama will win in a landslide against John McCain.
Georgia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi...Obama won every southern state except Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee with the Texas vote barely going to Hillary Clinton and the caucuses going to Obama.
All the "blue" states that went to Al Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004 will most certainly also go to Obama. But so could many of these southern states.

Aceofspades, I am serious about this,... I feel your pain. You like I, are emotionally invested in your candidate as well as simply in agreement with stated policy. I was outraged at some of the tactics used by her campaign strategists a while ago as you know (We exchanged P.M.s about it). But have stated since that I would support Senator Clinton if she were to be the nominee. Why? because their stated policies are 90% identical.
Differences are in Foreign Policy, and health care approaches (re- healthcare-not terribly different, nuances.)
As a local councilman said to me, "frankly the policy is that of the Democratic party espoused by both of them, it doesn't matter to me which one carries the torch".

Since both economic policy statements are in fact identical, I'm not sure Obama can be blamed if we can't afford to power our computers in 2 years. Though the republican economic policies certainly can. I have a preference over who carries the torch as do you, but getting that torch delivered is far more important than who carries it.
(Hey, the guy who drives the garbage truck has a made in China flag pin on!)
No matter what personal beliefs anyone has about the candidates, in the end, who will allow McCain to carry on the demonstrated failures of the past? Who would do this?
Best wishes,
Radio

Hi Radio,
Miss seeing the rest of the guys here ...regardless of the DNC candidate the choice has to be the Democratic Party winning the presidential race.
But I truly believe from my military experiences & the missions under POTUS #42, that the Cabinet they assembled was second to none in the history of the United States. As a CEO with a successful international company, experience has shown that it's the staff that determines the successful achievement of company goals.
In brief, looking at both teams ...the one that shows experience to cope with the current & near future environment would have to be the Clinton party. Logic dictates that the Clinton configuration is the only one that can show that it has a former star player on board, who has actually been there & done it.

Tiredofwhiners said "Obama is as presidential as my shoeshine boy".
That is not a racist remark.
It is a deep, pathetic whine about unfairness.
A young black person gets to be a Senator, a best-selling author, a grammy winner, the center of a politcal movement?
Some people have all the luck.
Even Obama's shoes are shinier.

Ase - are you saying that Obama, who is going to be president will do a bad job at it? You sound like the GOPers before Clinton took office in 96. I think Obama will be as much a president if not better! I think like most people who are against a candidate, you tend not to listen to them and you jump on the negatives. I happen to have a good vantage point when it comes to Clinton and Obama, because I like them both and I am not pining for a woman or a black person being president, I am for the person that will make the best president. Based on what I have seen Obama will, take his willingness to stand against the gas tax relief, it shows me a person that is willing to see a mistake and call it that, not try to spin it, and I don't see that with the others. We will get the truth from this guy and he will cross party lines to get things done! I am no longer thinking with emotions I am using my head!

And the policy failed, as Obama stated many times.
Obama`s opinion is the voice of experience and reason. The other two are trying to pull cheap political tricks to entice the gullible.
When Obama voted to suspend the oil tax, the oil companies did exactly what the critics and realists like myself predicted they would. They jacked up the price to make up for the reduced taxes. The oil companies pocketed the difference, and the tax payers got stuck paying the taxes anyway, only they had to pay higher gas prices up front, and pay interest on the borrowed money to make up for the loss in revenues.
Obama - voice of reason and experience.
PS. The `Greatest Generation` avoided shirking the debt for WWII onto their children and grandchildren with a 90% windfall profits tax. You don`t think windfall profits taxes work? Talk to history about it.

Your interest is, is there more dirt. I also told you this, when he ran for state office his opponent who is part of his campaign now spent 29 million trying to get some dirt on him, AND TRUST ME Clinton TRIED. One of your buddies on this very post just shredded his 65 page post on his website about what he stands for go there read it. I don't know that we can honestly say b. Hussein has NO substance. After all, listen to him talk about the high cost of health insurance. And on this topic, b. Hussein is an expert, having voted in the Illinois senate for 14 insurance coverage issues that increased the cost of health insurance. b. Hussein even voted to force insurers to cover those injured by their own means while drunk or high.
Thus, we can honestly say that b. Hussein has firsthand knowledge of the high cost of healthcare. He is part and parcel of the cause.

Quick Point.
4) Monitor social security pay-ins./ Must have social security number to work/
We already do that. The latest estimates I have heard is that there is about $1B extra in the SS fund because of the illegals who `borrowed` social security numbers but will never get a dime of that tax money back.
Thank an illegal.
Also, although we pay a negative externality, as economists call it, for illegal worker healthcare and other, we receive a positive externality for the cheap labor and products.
Now, if someone can accurately make a comparison of those positive and negative externalities, I would love to see it.
At this point, there is no telling whether America gains or loses on a macro level due to illegals.

Yeah, I know and I agree that identity theft is horrible crime.
But that is a different issue than SS `borrowing`. Heck, if some illegal borrowed my SS, paid the taxes on it, and I got extra when I retired, hallelujah! Lucky victim!
My point is that you are looking at the negatives, which I do not dispute. However, there are also positives such as cheap products and labor, reduced inflation, etc.
Until we have an accurate analysis and comparison of those benefits and costs, how are we supposed to REALLY know what to do?
A) if positives outweigh negatives, we may want to make adjustments to make sure those gaining the most also pay the most (i.e. collect payroll tax for ave # of workers from employers) but why change at macro level
B) if negatives outweigh positives and the cost/benefit analysis is there, we may want to round them up and kick out.
But I have never been given the facts necessary to say it is worth the cost to try to `fix`.

I completely agree with that ranch, my question is!!.... Why haven't we gotten any of this from our current administration? Will the next admin be expected to clean up ALL the illegals mess within the first 6 months in office, while Bush allowed the problem to get to where it is today.
Another thing! If, give illegals amnesty, McCain is elected, do you think there will ever be anything done about the illegals in the U.S.?

The talk about the illegals for the most part is an appeaser and a distraction, they are not taking our jobs, the biggest sin they cost to the US is exporting their wages instead of reintroducing it to the economy. But that is so minute that it has little to no affect on what's going on. I am not an advocate for illegals, i just hate it that our government is blowing smoke up our rectums again. They are playing on our hate!

Blackace, this is huge, the control of inflow and reintroduction. It is a true sub-economy, and the Federal Reserve is completely out of the loop. This is someone using the Dollar with rules we don't have a clue of the implications; inflationary or what. Can't say the degree of causes but if it is not looked into, the competition factor alone will come to bite us. What can we expect from the same people that lost billions of dollars and no oversight.

I have news for you Ranch- A study was done on the illegals that you speak of, which proves the lie that they are a cost to the tax payers in this regards, is just that a lie. The test was a pathological study on why the illegals never go to the doctor, and they found that on average it takes these illegals 5 to 6 years before they even get a cold once moving to the US, and then another 2 to 3 before you start to see the break down in health. The study shows that by then most of them are insured from a legal job because they file for legal status. This study was done because of the infant mortality and low birth weight in the US as appose to 3rd world countries. And by accident the doctors stumble unto this fact. When they check into the claim that they are a cost to the US medically, it turned out to be so minimal that it really shouldn't be made mention in the national debt!

Georgia, small point here, GAO commented and said Obama's plan was flawed, but is doable. However, by comparison Hillary's and the little McCain was on record with at the time would not work. I don't know. What I want is the economy to work, that way we can have some money, especially a dollar that is sound. The we can afford some care and hope a system can be hacked out that we can use.

I'll help him/her. Here's another one for you because I just hate all of you. I don't even particularly like people (dogs and cats are OK).

People keep saying Hill is a better candidate and the question that keeps running through my head is, if so why does she keep losing to obama? How can you be better and still lose? The talking heads were always ridiculous but this, this is down right stupid.
