You've been duped by the media. Newspapers print perspectives. Facts may be a pert of the story, but slights of deception are present to make a support for their personal perspective.

That is why I like to get my news from MULTIPLE sources rather than relying on one source.

By my statement, I was merely trying to make sure that people understand that creation, while a strongly held belief, is not a fact and therefore should not be put on the same playing field as evolutionary theory.

Go to the Galapogos Islands and look at the iguanas to see evolution at work. It's right there. In plain sight. No faith needed.

Multiple sources is always the best route, whether it's news or science, weighing the evidence leads to the likely answer. In order for creationism to be correct, not only does evolution have to be wrong, but it also indicates problems with physics, astronomy, geology, paleontology, botany, zoology, genetics and all of the life sciences. All of these fields support evolution and an Earth of 4.6 Billion years old.

A person can pretend to themselves that the field of genetics is a hoax, but this won't keep you from having to pay child support if a genetic test say's you are a parent. Genetics puts people on death row and has the power to take innocent people off death row. Genetics also happens to show that all species are related, just as Darwin predicted, long before the field came into existence. The same test to determine how closely related you are to a child, can find how closley related humans are amongst other species.

Evolution continues to grow, creationism was stillborn.

Whoa dude ! Where is your proof that creation isn't fact ? Evolution is a THEORY - get it- A THEORY !! We are in a learning stage and all because we think we see a chain of events that cause us to draw a conclusion from a specific perspective, doesn't make us all knowing so that we can conclusively do away with the writings about creation !! Evolutionists are doing the same thing that they accuse the creationists doing - oversimplifying. If you really read your Bible you would see that all that God does is by way of development - so it makes sense that the universe, planets, flora, fauna, humanity have developed to where we are now. What you are stating like all the blinded others is equivalent to the computer stating that Bill Gates does not exist !

Yes, evolution is indeed a theory, just like gravity, atomic theory, germ theory and the theory of limits (calculus). On the other hand, creationism remains an opinion, at best.

I'd say is an alternative to common sense.

I don't think I would go that far. If evolution were 'common sense' than the person who realized it's existence wouldn't be remembered anymore than the first person who realized they should come in from the rain.

Further, in Darwin's time it was argued evolution could only work on a scale of MILLIONS of years. An Earth whose age was in the millions was hard to imagine for Darwin himself, yet the evidence spoke otherwise. Today we know that evolution has worked on a scale of BILLIONS of years.

While I know the Earth is 4.6 Billion years old, that doesn't seem like 'common sense' to me. I can picture a million, heck that's only all of the seconds in a month, but a BILLION? That's all of the seconds in 70 years or nearly the average lifespan. It's a difficult concept to imagine how long the history of life is compared to our own short existence, both personally and as a species.
