  More than a possibility...the California State Supreme Court just knocked down the state's ban on same-sex marriage.
  Maybe now other states will follow.

      Well...
      As I recall, the "will" of the people voted Gore in as President in 2000, and a certain court (which shall remain nameless) declared the popular vote null and void.
      Yes, the Electoral College is what rules national Presidential elections, but, the will of the people is not always followed, is it?

        Bush may have won Florida and square, but nationally, Gore ended up with more popular votes than Bush.
        Guess the will of the people lost out again, huh...
        Altho, I do think this...
        I would prefer the popular vote to decide everything in this country...no courts, no Congress, no President. Just leave it up to us, the people, to decide on things, within each state.
        Do I think majority rule is always good? No. But I will go along with the majority until such a time comes that, when I don't agree with them, I will fight to persuade them otherwise.

        Bush won Florida fair and square. SCOTUS only confirmed that. It did not thwart the will of the people since the Electoral College is the will of the people.>>>
        Nope, the SC confirmed nothing of the sort! They ruled on whether or not the recount could continue.

      For the umpteenth time. You live in a country where equal rights are guaranteed to ALL. The will of the people does NOT get to override that.
