I think it's just depressing. No one interviewed could give a single valid reason--that is, a reason having to do with an issue that affects them--to vote for any of the candidates. Not even the ones who said they'd vote for Obama.

It is depressing indeed. To think that a child that grows up in this country with dark skin is going to be hated by a sizable part of this country based solely on his color is a tragedy.

You know, I've been poor too. But I've never been so stupid that words like those would come out of my mouth. I'm not depressed. I'm ******ed that people like that can vote, & screw up my country!

How much did Obama campaign in WV??

He really didn't make much of an effort and was rewarded for his lack of attention to that state

        His campaign wrote them off

Not much. But it's not the loss or even the size of it that bothers me--it's the way the voters talk (and I can assume, think)--about their choices.

Yes but he also was tagged with the "elitist" label after his remarks in SF

Hillary transformed herself into a populist

He is going to have to make more of an effort with blue collar Democrats if he is the nominee

That talk extends all the way through the Deep South. He has the same issues among the white lower and middle class voters there as he had in WV. This is the exact demographic to which all of those poisonous emails were directed and those will continue to be sent by the millions. These people read something once about a Democrat or anyone with liberal leanings (McCain in SC in '00) and they believe it as fact. Never cross checking references or checking the source.

Good point, V.O.R. It's like the Muslim thing. Muslims in cahoots with Osama bin Laden attacked the World Trade Center. Most educated and informed people know that this was done by a radical faction of Islam that was based in Afghanistan. The uneducated and uninformed took the opinion that all Muslims were bad and they needed to be re-educated and turned into a Secular government. A good Arab christian nation. They are throwing billions of dollars away everyday and causing death and destruction on the people they try to liberate. They see nothing wrong with this. Yet abortion is bad. Dropping a 5000 pound bomb on a city is good. Sorry I wandered off.

                  Re: educated people

Isn't that why in a totalitarian takeover the first to go are the teachers, doctors, journalists, lawyers, professors and intellectuals.

It is a depressing state filled with hillbillies.

Their education system is abysmal, and (garbage)what you put in is (garbage) what you get out.

The lord's gonna make their lives better!

Ever see how many roadside crosses there are in W. Va.??

(they have many unburnt ones left over)
