Dear Barack Obama »

The last line of the article:
"And we see you're just a horse's ass."
Its a good line for shock value; since the article starts out politely, as though gently rebuking Obama for the mistakes he made. Then gradualy builds up into that shriek of hate.
John McCain recently said:
"This mindless, paralyzing rancor must come to an end. We belong to different parties, not different countries,"
That McCain says these things (and seems to mean it) is perhaps the final reason the far right is not and can not ever be comfortable with him.

Good article RRJ. I hate that we only have 999 characters to write on this site. That "Hope and Change" message along with the "Yes We Can" have been such a joke. And then there were the first rallies that people were fainting at. OMFG, he is a rock star. And the throngs prove it.
But, his messages are what have gotten me to look the other way. Seriously, when a politician starts preaching it is time to look the other way. AG coined it perfectly last year when she wrote the words... "Cult Of Personality."
He preaches at his rallies, and the throng of worshipers shout "yes we can" as an amen. He has the way of bringing them together. But, you and I both know that he is another politician. You and I can think of two words that sum him up just like his counterparts. Illegal Immigration, are two words that still come to mind. But, remember we would vote against that and so then we are labeled racist cause we want Illegals to go home.

..""Cult Of Personality."
Yes, just like one of my all-time favorites, Comrade Stalin.
Hummm isn't Black liberation Theology Marxist in basic theory? Maybe that is were I'm getting the Comrade OBama idea from.
(But secretly I'm more of the Rasputin fan. Man could handle his poison and liquor and he definitely had a way with the women as well as being a-political. A true party animal.)

What exactly were your fore fathers when thet hit American shores? Immigrants. Why is it all of a sudden America can longer be a dream for people to strive towards? I agree it must be done through the front door and not the back but, let us be fair and look at our own histories. On a different note, They are all politicians and anyone who thinks not is fooling themselves. I will say this I have spent many hours studying these candidates and for all that I've learned I voted in my primary for Senator Obama. And I am as blue collar as it gets. The others are ,well, my mother always told me if I couldn't say something nice not to say anything at all so I'll abstain from making degrading comments in regards to the other candidates. I will say this a whole lot of the people on here sound an awful lot like elitists to me, know what they say? People who live in glass houses.....

I think 999 characters is probably a good limit; brevity being the soul of wit.
As for messages of change, the new Republican motto of "Change You Deserve" is not getting enough air time.
I would like to hear exactly what the Republican leadership thinks America deserves, and how much is it going to hurt?

"And, since your rise I've hunted, quite frantically, for young conservative leaders with your talent. (To my relief, I found Bobby Jindal.)"
Interesting that the writer mentions Bobby Jindal
I think this is a name we are going to hear mentioned frequently in the future

I have to admit, I'm not as thrilled with Obama as I was a few months ago. I'm not ready to jump on the McCain wagon, but Obama's sheen is definitely wearing a little thin. I really, really want to keep on believing in him. But I need...something.
I don't know.

Obama is a man, flawed and human, just like the rest of us, but he is a man who is brilliant, sincere, hard working, altruistic, dedicated, patriotic, and longing for, fighting for, and working for a positive change from the dark side into which we have slipped over the past 8 yrs.
Has he made some mistakes along the way? Tell me who the heck hasn't? But, by and large, he's made more correct decisions than incorrect ones, and he is headed in the right direction! I'm sticking with him all the way. Darned if I want to sink further into the abyss, which is exactly where we're headed now.

The Speeches he gives are about hope and change. He gives a very top level idea of what he is talking about. That leaves everybody thinking he will do what they want never realizing that there are no specifics.
If you go to his web site there are a lot more details and they are very expensive. Very far left. They want your name, email address, and zip code to go in and then they hit you with requests for donations. You have to look carefully to find his stands on things.
What a guy.

Ummm, it's called fund raising, and it's brilliant and effective, which is why both Hillary and McSame are now doing it also. As always, he's the creative, innovative, progressive one in the lead.
I have yet to get any literature from any political figure in the mail or otherwise that doesn't contain a pitch for funds. Get real.

Sometimes when ones mind is closed to new ideas it only see's what it wants to see. An open mind, well, an open mind allows one to experience new ideas, soperhaps we should work on opening up our minds to the possibility of positive change.

If you want to learn a lesson from past experience, you should be willing to give a different person with a different point of view a shot! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Even God tries something new every now and then: "Behold, I do a new thing..."
Don't be too scared to move the cheese...

How does the writer reconcile their animosity towards taxes with their support for continuing the Iraq War. We keep borrowing $2,000,000,000 a week from the international community to prolong the War. The writer's position is fiscally inconsistent.

It seems that everyone is always complaining about politicians not getting them or not understanding the average person. Well isnt obvious that will a country this size, that you cant please every single person and that everything that is wrong cannot be fixed. I mean the things you all say about Obama, the same can be said about every politician. So what now.. Who has Presidential Experience except an Ex president...not the wife of or the side kick. One can only know what they wll be able to do when they get there. Until then, EVERY politicians words are hopeful speeches. I can sit here and tell my staff that I want to get X amount of grant dollars for this year but until I actually know what I am workign with and DO THE WORK ITSELF ...it's just hope. Dont be mad because he can out talk someone. (and notice how I didnt make it about race)

Meh. Saying small town people are stupid is obviously ridiculous and untrue. But it is still true that people vote based on non issues like gay marriage and terrorism in north Dakota. What terrorist would ever bomb anything in North Dakota? And as a result we get retards like Bush in office. It is a little hard not to get bitter at yall small town folk for electing people based on things like "family values".
